The Top 10 Pink Floyd Songs of All Time – The Results as Voted by You!

The results are now in from our poll in which we asked you to pick your 10 favorite Pink Floyd songs.
The poll was slightly different than most, because you had the option to pick up to 10, with a minimum of 1, as opposed to just having to pick your #1 favorite Pink Floyd song.
The poll lasted 1 month and had over 500 different people participate – Thanks to all who took the time to vote!

So Comfortably Numb wins! The margin wasn’t really all that close as you can see between 1st and 2nd, but their were some very close, almost last minute moves between some of the other songs and placements in the top 10. For example, Us and Them was holding the top 10 spot for a few weeks and ended up being bumped from the top 10 list completely to #12. I was also surprised to see how high Atom Heart Mother ranked in the list.

Thanks PFO for compiling all of this data (I’m sure a huge task). Its hard to disagree with the results because its so subjective. For me personally, I am surprised that Arnold Layne & Astronomy Domine didn’t fare better. I’m sure a lot has to do with the age of the voter also. If I recall, my top 10 included Dogs, WYWH, Hey You, Time, Echoes & Shine on. I’m a little surprised that Sheep and Dogs made the top, but Pigs 3DO didn’t. Well, even I didn’t vote for quicksilver :)

Did anyone that submitted a full set of songs match the totaled list, in the exact order? If not, can you tell us how close the closest list was? It would be fun to know. Any other statistics like that would also be very cool.
Hi aripekagator, I just checked the poll log stats and didn’t find anyone that submitted that exact list as their top 10 from registered users. But it’s possible someone submitted it as a guest.
The only other possibly interesting stats were the poll lasted exactly 1 month – (It ran from June 25th to July 25th), had 763 different voters from around the world, and 6,708 total votes – which means people on average picked 8.79 songs, having the option to pick as little as 1 and as much as 10.
Oh yeah, and you’ll notice the percentages don’t add up to 100%. That’s because it calculates a little differently when it’s multiple choice.
For example, the 57% next to ‘Comfortably Numb’ means 57% of everyone who voted had that in their top 10.
Or in other words – 57% of all Pink Floyd fans consider that 1 of the best Pink Floyd songs of all time, but not even half have Wish You Were Here in their top 10, which had 49% of all voters’ vote.
Completely and utterly predictable results except one – that of Atom Heart Mother, I never expected that to poll so many votes. Only one of my choice made the top 10 but that was also expected :)

I Bet the top 10 Pink Floyd members solo songs would be interesting? Anything released outside of the Pink Floyd name.

On the poll about how Pink Floyd was featured during the opening ceremonies, I missed the opening because of work, and I was wondering if there is any full length video available showing it.
