Pink Floyd received a few nods in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, including a flying pig over the Battersea Power Station, (pictured) the sound effects from “Time” when the camera zoomed by Big Ben, and the song ‘Eclipse’ from Dark Side of the Moon was played towards the very end.
Here is the video of Eclipse:

This sent chills down my spine. I think it shows how much the England appreciates Pink Floyd to feature them like this.
Just looked at this video and it was smashing! We just watched the documentary of Pink Floyd and I must say it was really great to see and hear from all the guys and remember the history of one of the world’s greatest and most original musical groups! WELL DONE!
That was awesome to watch!!!!
Eu vi isso também.
E eu acredito que existe grande possibilidade do Pink Floyd tocar no encerramento dos olimpiasdas de 2012.
It was so very nice.
But I heard that they will play at the end of games 2012.
Yea,when pigs fly!
yes, I hope so.
Thank you for this, I have been searching for any footage I can find, and this is it.
Excellent. That is what I was looking for. Thumbs up to the person who recorded it.
oh dear, whatISRoger going to sayabout all this? personally, i strongly dislike the olympics. it’s adreadful coca cola macdonalds media frenzy, everything the floyd stands against. Hey, olympics, leave Pink Floyd alone!! all in all you just a big bliddy mess, and england canny pay for it, aw bless!
