Pink Floyd Live in France 1971 – Some Really Clear Audio and Footage

Posted October 9th, 2012 by PFO Staff

Pink Floyd Video of the Week

I’m amazed I hadn’t seen this video before, as high quality as it is. This was filmed around the same time as “Live At Pompeii”, (you may recognize the gong) though it is uncertain if this video was originally meant to be apart of the film.

It’s 18 minutes long and includes some rather trippy, yet tasty versions of ‘Cymbaline’ and ‘Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun’.

Our thanks again to the Pink Floyd forum on reddit for sharing this video we’ve made our Pink Floyd Video of the Week.

It’s quite rare to get this high quality footage of early Pink Floyd. This is gold and hope to be able to see more.

Any Pink Floyd footage is rare and I am hoping there will be more made public.

Thanks for the information about this video.
It’s fantastic! Mysterious, full of sincere and deep emotions. As an artist myself, a painter, I listen a lot to Pink Floyd while working in my studio. Specially I’m thankful for their inspiration, which helped me to create a large composition of Stained glass windows (2008-2011) http://www.matejmetlikovic.si/projekt-maribor-2011.html

Superb piece of footage – about the time I saw them at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London supported by Mountain, Quiver, Faces……?
I’m that old but it’s still the best music in the world!

Very interesting. After so many years, it’s a wonderful composition and a (very) good example of musical criativity.

1969-1972 is my favorite era of the band. Before they really hit it big………MAGICAL
