In some sense, Roger was a major figure in early Floyd in terms of being a driving force, but in terms of music, Rick contributed a lot more in the Syd era, and in terms of relationship with Syd, David was closer to him than anyone else.

An actor cant be judged by his country. Depp is amazing, and would totally pull off a flawless british accent.

Hollywood has this annoying habit of making Bio pics using people who's lack of resemblence ( let's face it, its important to some degree) or theatrical skill leave fans miffed which brings me to the prospect of Johnny Depp as Syd... I think I'd need some convincing for that portrayal but it could be good.
If they can get someone who at first had a twinkle in his eye & a bounce in his step..........
That person would also have to have that "Black holes in the sky" look as well.
News to me about what Waters said about the script!!! Hell, he was with Syd from 65-68 & a little bit in their formative years.
But after that....It's ALL Gilmour with a dash of Rick Wright for good measure. I also heard that the "Barrett Estate"(?!) nixed the idea of ANY movie due to the fact that they would glamorize Syd's drug use & sickness & the music & genius would take a back seat to that. Just what I heard, I could be wrong!!
Daniel day lewis in the early 90's would have been perfect.
