The problem is that - despite the fact that they sound brilliant and I love listening to them - they don't really have anything to say. They're very melodic, and stick to carefully written compositions, which also does not allow much room for emotion to be added to it. It's David's style and I love it, but whole albums of such solos can get pretty boring. (That's one of the reasons why I dislike Pink Floyd's last two studio albums.)

On another note, guitar solos aren't mandatory for Pink Floyd albums at all. They're not even essential. Albums like Ummagumma, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, A Saucerful of Secrets and More have no need for guitar solos to be amazing. Not every album can be another version of Wish You Were Here.

i TOTALLY disagree. david gilmours guitar solos are a BIG reason i LOVE pink floyd! his guitar playing is just soooo beautiful. and really like nothing else i've ever heard.

I never said I don't. I just said it's easy to overdo the guitar solos if you stuff every single album with them.
I don't dislike it, but I don't get why people don't like Ummagumma. Sure some of the studio tracks are a little "out there", but the live album is superb.
The only song I don't care for on Ummagumma is Sysyphus, but I love everything else. The Narrow Way is one of my favorite Gilmour solo efforts and The Grand Vizier's Garden Party has some pretty damn great percussion. Granchester Meadows is a very soothing song and Several Species is probably Roger at his most creative. I hated it at first, but it's very much grown on me.

I agree completely, although I'll have Sysyphus switched with The Grand Vizier's Garden Party. I like it, but some of it sounds rather annoying to me. (The part where you hear sounds which constantly get abruptly aborted, if you know what I mean.) Sysyphus and The Narrow Way are two of my favourite non-Waters songs.
I find it somewhat difficult to pick a "least favorite" Alice album. Unless it'd be the various 'greatest hits albums that've been put out on the market over the years.
Hey spammer......this is a Pink Floyd forum, not an Alice Cooper website. Get it together.
The favourite album which i like very much and it will get the success is of Sonu Nigam and the album named as Deewana. He sing the song from the deep heart which also get good response for that. It is so interesting to listen. There are many of the albums which i like but this is least which i known as good.
Jesus, it's like Skynet took over these boards or something.
By the way, after having listened to all the albums a few times again, I've come to like The Division Bell a little bit more, but now my least favourite ones are Pulse and The Delicate Sound of Thunder. Definitely.
