Avant-Garde wouldn't exist if it weren't for five year olds banging the piano.

It's like A Saucerful of Secrets. Or Several Species. Or Revolution 9, or Interstellar Overdrive, or Between Skylla and Chalybdis.
Add to the list. I love listening to music like that.

Revolution 9 is one of the scariest songs I know!!!! Have you ever heard it backwards? Look it up on youtube but the catch is you have to watch it at 1in the morning!!!

I'm doing a little marathon right now and after I listen to More and OBC back to back, I was gonna then listen to Ummagumma and AHM. I'll let you know my opinion on it then, Arno

Haha! :D The backwards version is indeed even more creepy. The funny thing is that some parts, which are reversed in the original song, sound like coherent music when you listen to it backwards. Also... Does he really say "Turn me on, dead man"?
By the way, there's a video artist's impression of the song on youtube earlier. That video was even more creepy... The first five times when I attempted to watch it on my own, I had to quit after a minute because I got scared. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IfUUDvP56Y
@Hunter: Ummagumma and Atom Heart Mother are great to listen to back to back. They're completely different, yet have something that makes them very similar. Can't really put my finger on it. Either way, they're two of my favourites. :)

Re: Ummagumma, the studio album portion of the record isn't bad per se, there are some bits that are quite good (portions of Sysyphus, The Narrow Way), but if I'm playing the album I'd much rather listen to the live disc.

Meh I find there to be pretty cool stuff in and around but generally the second disk sucks SPECIFICALLY the song written only by Nick Mason

I love Ummagumma's studio part. Everything about it, except for Nick's song. That's just kind-of "eh".
