I read on Wikipedia that Rick was thought to be working on a solo album when he passed away. Any thoughts on whether it's likely that someone (perhaps David) will add any necessary finishing touches and release it posthumously?

I've been wondering that myself.

When Roger asked Rick to play DSotM shows with him last summer (or was it the summer before that, can't remember?), Rick's excuse not to do it was that he was going to spend the summer working on a solo album. He was talking about doing a solo album in interviews, too. Then, we never heard anything about it. I'm hoping that he had been working on it... I wouldn't be surprised if it was a really low-key thing that he was working on in a home studio or something.

Funnily, I was also wondering if Dave might be able to finish the album... It would be great if Rick and Dave could collaborate one last time.
Hopefully they can re-issue WET DREAM ( was this ever on cd?) and BROKEN CHINA as well..I heard BROKEN CHINA for the first time today and it holds up quite well in the FLOYD family..I feel a bit guilty haven't previously heard it but glad I have now...

I love Broken China. In terms of its overall construction and conceptual structure, for me, it's the most Floydian of all solo Floyd albums. And, I'm so glad that it exists at all.
I have Wet Dream in low bitrate Ogg Vorbis converted from low bitrate WMA and it sounds absolutely terrible. I'd love to get hold of a lossless copy of it.
Ive got wet dream on cd .... i could give you it in flac if your really wanted ... would be a hassle cos my bandwidth is running low

That would be appreciated, but don't put yourself out if it's too much of a hassle. I don't mind waiting until next month or whenever your bandwidth gets reset, and I also don't mind providing something in return if there's anything I can (I have every solo studio album by Roger, David, Rick and Syd on CD or in FLAC except Wet Dream, plus Roger's In The Flesh Live on CD and numerous other Floyd and non-Floyd albums in lossless formats, including quite a nice 48kHz/24-bit vinyl rip of Meddle in FLAC). Let me know by PM or email, 'cause I don't think the mods here will want us to discuss it in the open.
From reading various tributes to Rick recently, it is very clear that Rick was indeed working on an album when he died. I really do hope that someone, most likely Dave, can do something with it.

Likely too much to hope, but perhaps Richard's passing could be a bit of a bridge within the group. Perhaps the remaining three could get together in the studios to record one or two of the songs Rick was working on..... Much like Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr did with "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love". I realize I am living likely in a world of make-believe, but it would be nice.

I also agree with past statements that Broken China was the most Floydian sounding solo album. Completely beautiful.
He was working on an instrumental solo album, according to the BBC, but I doubt Dave will allow it to be released, he also has all the master tapes of Syd's recordings.
