Uhm , were you aware that in all probability some if not all the interviews you have cited from Mojo just may have been written by Mark Blake ?

For David to have to replace his childhood friend Syd in a band that was basically Syd's & to continue w/their relationship thru Madcap Laughs & the Barrett Lp's, They were VERY close....at least till 1975. At 14 years, they both shot off to France & were basically street musicians, they were born exactly 2 months apart Jan6=Syd,March6=David. David made sure Syd got his royalties, called Roe to check on him & even sent a few Christmas cards throughout the years. They seem closer to me than the guy's he ORIGINALLY played with. Alot of hot air from the other 3, maybe not Rick, & Nick has admitted they didn't do enough to help him.Waters seems jealous to me but does say he'd be building things if it weren't for Syd.ALL of them should thank Syd, they're doing what they want to do with their lives. Most of us have to do what we do to survive. B4 Syd died, Dave was thinking of visiting but it never came to.

I just got done reading 'Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey' by Nicholas Schaffner. I found it to have the most information I have read thus far on the friendship between David and Syd. I am in the middle of 'Comfortably Numb' by Mark Blake. Though very well written, I don't find it as informative as the latter.
Hope this helps a bit:)

Get them from the library. That's what I did. You won't be disappointed

Also, Nick Mason's book is great. Love the visuals in it.

Nick's book is hilarious. I love it. Mark Blake's book is damn good, too.
