I think Arno posted a link to a video where Echoes is synchronized with the "Jupiter and what's beyond" scene (I'm not sure of the scene's name).

That's not actually taken from the movie, though. That's what some person decided to make on their own and upload to YouTube.

I understand, but many people said the film and the song could be synchronized together. Same thing as The Wizard Of Oz (even though it's not entirely relevant)

I know that, I've heard the urban legend before. I'm saying though, that the split in Echoes in the film Live at Pompeii had nothing to do with any rumors that the song itself could be synchronized to any other movie. It was done to bookend the original film, which was just one hour of performance footage, so that part 1 would flow into the next song, and then the second to last song could flow into part 2.

Oh! Huge misunderstanding. I know the reason it was split into two parts. But, there's a weird cut in the middle of the first part when the music goes from being really heavy to kind of funky...do you know what I'm talking about?

I don't hear it, I just hear the segue from the heavier guitar solo/drum bit into the more funky bit.

Well, sorry for the misunderstanding. I tend to expect people to know what I'm talking about without really saying anything.

Back on topic, right there at 7:37. That just doesn't feel right. I'm quite certain it was montaged.

In a video on youtube titled david guilmour playing guitar solo for Echoes (paraphrase) he plays the 'funky' part your talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN3IDnxOCn4 is the video. It could be the 'solo' but there definitely more than one solo. (and that was just what that guy thought to title it)

That's not the full solo, it's just a small bit of that "funky" section. That was a clip from Live at Pompeii, BTW.
