If Live 8 hadn't happened, I would want the three surviving members to reunite for the Closing Ceremonies. However, we got our reunion, and with Rick gone now....it would seem weird for them to be doing full songs together without them. Something huge would be missing that no amount of Jon Carin or other keyboardists could fix....even for one song.

Bottom line is a Pink Floyd reunion has nothing to do with the Olympics and should never be, the Olympics is big enough and a reunion would get lost and wasted, unlike Live 8. If there were ever to be one then it should be in it's own 'arena' being headed as a spectacular moment in history, well, for us fans anyway.

A Romanian gymnast, competing in the Floor Exercise event final, did her routine to Shine On You Crazy Diamond. How extraordinary!

You're absolutely right.
Anyway, it's wonderful to notice all the Floyd hommage during this event. I haven't watched much of it but from the reports I've had, there's plenty of references. Britain is rightfully proud of their prog lords.

How extraordinary!Pretty cool I thought! I first heard it in the background a few nights before during someone else's routine and did a double take.
Does anyone know what version it was? Definitely wasn't the studio version.
And I for one enjoyed the WYWH tribute during the closing ceremony. Ed Sheeran may not be David Gilmour, but he's a really good singer and seeing Nick was cool. Plus, the recreation of the album cover on the tightrope was a nice surprise.
