Isn't there an early version of it on the Zabriskie Point soundtrack?

That's "Come In Number 51, Your Time Is Up". Because of the key change (E instead of D), I didn't count it, but it is closely related to CWTAE.
The key doesn't matter that much, as long as the chord progression is the same.

I wouldn't say I have perfect pitch--but whatever I have is enough that a pitch change can sometimes even prevent me from recognizing a song that's been transposed. It sounds like an entirely new song to me!

In this case, I CAN recognize it, but the moods and images are entirely different.
It was originaly the B side to Point me At the Sky single but can now be found on Relics and Live Ummagumma (best version a lot more screaming rocker )
