I've been playing electric guitar since last Hanukkah (yes hanukkah) and I got one of those starter kits. the guitar wasnt too bad, an Ibanez gio, but everything else in the kit I have replaced so far, except the amp. I was thinking of getting a new amp, because it is only 10w, but I realized I wont need one until I'm in a band, so I wanted to get a multi-effects pedal. I know digitech is supposed to be good, but what would be a good one to get...I'd be willing to spend around maybe 150 for it
ye i know u did but really you wont get a good one for that price u need to invest money by getting a good one
Maybe you can get the Boss ME50. It's a nice one, though I'm not a fan of multi-effects. It's not as expensive as the GT8, but it has the most common effects.
What would you want a Multi pedal for?..the reason I ask is I have bought multipedals and they seem to do EVERYTHING but NOTHING great..I mean there are LOADS of effects but none of them are outstanding...where a single GOOD effect unit will give you better sound for what it is..I also found that I seldom used a Multi for more than 1 or 2 effects and never exploited their full potential, So I went back and bought just effects that I use, like I'm a big EH fan so I bought a Small Clone and an Electric Mistress, I found they gave me better chorus and Flange then the giant Boss unit I had...also for Distortion/overdrive the Multis don't really cut it in my book, I used an old Expandora...Now a days tho, I find the only thing I use is reverb, and occasionally Tremolo ( My main amp is a Blackface Princeton Reverb)...but I did get an old Fender Reverb Unit 6G15, I think, I found an old Tweed Deluxe w/ no reverb)..and am finding that nowadays I seldom use ANY effects except the Reverb..and that sparingly, but if I am recording I'll occasionally use one of my effect boxes if the track needs it, but Live, I'm not even using overdrive anymore just natural Tube distortion..altho, I did get a boss loop station that's kinda cool for playing against loops..but that's really a practice toy, never use it at a gig...anyway...whatever effect you use most, buy a really good one of those!

That's how I think about it too. I use loads of effects though :)
