Talk about singing techniques and diffrent vibbrato styles.

Hopefully someone can give me tips on my singing abilities
I've been trying for about 4 years to sound like a young Dave... but I can't really tell becuase we can't hear ourselves as others hear us :D

I have quite a wide vocal range, I can sing quite high (like Dave on some of his Island stuff) and low (like Dave on Sorrow :D ) I've been trying to stretch my high-range to a Jon Anderson type sound, but it's hard and hurts.

There are also some areas where my voice goes croaky and I sound like a 14 year who's voice is breaking :(

I Know how you mean i can sing Davids Devision bell / Momentary singing pretty much dead on. But i know how you mean my voice gets croaky at times too.

My next battle is to master how to do roger ive pretty much nailed the thin ice and nobody home / sheep and fletcher memorial

Its really hard to do roger though ity comes naturally wen i listen to his works but it takes a fair beatting to get it out.

If you understand ?
I can do some Roger stuff, but I can't hold notes like he could (nor can he anymore :upside: )
I have some problems too with my voice going all croaky. It's really hard sometimes to keep singing with the same quality voice for an hour or two.

I can do some Roger vocals but not much...my voice is too clear for it. I like singing Davids stuff more too.
I can hit almost all the notes, the problem with me is that nomatter on what pitch or volume, i sound like im talking it. I dont have a singing "tone" at all, and i dont know how to fix it.

Hmm...might be pretty difficult to learn. Maybe you should try taking some singing-lessons to get you on the way? It might sound stupid if you tell somebody, but it can really help :)
i think this kindof problem is the unfixable kind

Ha ha cant be that bad

Well for me i can rogers voice on the Fletcher Memoieral Home and on Sheep

And i can do Nobody Home And The Thin Ice but when it comes to his really lowish sounds like erm the happiest days of our lives i cant do that
For Rogers part I can do a lot of Pros and Cons...don't know why, but those parts seem easier ???
