What are you rambling on about now? You can barely string two words together before seemingly pissing all over yourself.
And while you're shutting up, please drop the Al Qaeda love fest crap. You sound like an IRA-Wannabe.
Go back to your hole......we'll smoke you out later.

what hope is there for kids nowadays when your say is put down like that?
thanks again, woof.
I'm just glad to see someone older than me that shares my beliefs. My parents aren't at all like that.
This whole thread is a mess anyway. I've been reading it over for the past few days. Too much wankering on AG's part.

Mmmh..hardly likely though, is it. Not in a modern democracy.
Especially one with a federal government, with it`s attendant division of power - maybe a little anachronistic?
If a modern US military is on the side of a tyrannical dictatorship (massive nuclear capability etc.), how many hand-guns the populace have got, is irrelevant. So, again, applicable historically, but not now?
Quote:If the government ever tried to take away every single gun in the country, there would be a revolution!
No-one`s suggesting that. Impossible anyway, due to the irreversible proliferation. A control is all that`s suggested.
You really think that the people in the military would go to war against their fellow countrymen? They would kill their own friends and family? I guarantee if the government ever turned into a dictatorship and the people revolted, more than half of the military would desert and go fight along side the people. The government would have to hire mercenaries and they would lose terribly!
You think all the American people have are little hand-guns? Your way off, you obviously know nothing about the guns we have in this country. America has BILLIONS of all kinds of guns. We have guns that are legal that should be illegal, guns that you could go over to Iraq with and fight insurgents! We have hundreds of thousands of all kinds of semi-autos! Not only do we have all the guns in the world, but there sooo easy to get, it's ridiculous! There's a huge black market for all kinds of illegal guns aswell. Two years ago a guy living here in New York was arrested and to sentenced to 22 years in jail for selling full-automatic Ak-47 rifles. The FBI came and found 400 AK's and the guy said he had already sold well over 300! This sort of thing pops up all over the place in the US. The American People are soo insanely armed it would blow your mind!
You think it's impossible to take away all the country's guns? Did'nt the UK and Australia succeed in taking away all their people's guns? There are lots of people here in the US that would love to do the same thing and it certainly is not impossible!

I'm not worried about dictatorship, I'm just saying that it COULD happen someday! 20 years ago if you told the American People that we would be attacked on 9/11/2001 and 3,000 Americans would be killed in a couple of hours, they would have laughed you out of the country! This is the 21st Century, anything is possible!
Gandhi may have been against violence but the only reason India got it's Independence was because the people were violent. During World War II Gandhi said that he could not support the British in a war being fought for democratic freedom while that freedom was denied in India. The British did not like that at all and began stirring up tension between Hindus and Muslims. Soon a large movement grew for independence and a wave of violence swept through India. Loads of people were arressted and at one point, Gandhi was ready to give up his belief of non-violence.
Martin Luther King JR was only one piece of the Civil Rights Movement, there were lots of people that were just as important that are pretty much forgotten in American History today. Malcolm X was another piece as were the Black Panthers. Throughout the Civil Rights Movement of the 60's, there was loads of violence stirred up by the American People. Cities all across the country were burned to the ground, lots of people were killed and the government felt the country was on it's way to another Civil War, a new level of disorder! They realized that this could not go on and they had to give in.
I just thought Id mention some things of my own thought. To be honest I havent read ALL of these posts, so be it, bear with me.
My father owns 9 guns. They are used for hunting, sport shooting, collection, protection (luckily never used) and thats it. Some of these are "mine" though his legally. We feel, as members even of the NRA, that gun control is absolutely necessary. We do support gun control, even strict gun control, extremely strict. Yes, it should be tough to get a gun here. My dad has had guns for 30 years with no accidents, it is quite clear that a man like him should be able to have a firearm. 11,000 deaths per year from guns is sad. However, these are probably illegal guns, used by criminals, or stupid accidents which should have been avoided. However, people die in car accidents all the time, or ruin their lives in car accidents. My mom was almost paralyzed because of a car accident she had 7 years ago with me in the car. However, in all the years she been around guns, nothing has happened. It remains true, that through this all, it is the person with the gun who pulls the trigger, not the gun. Guns made this country free, and I would never trust my government with all the guns. 2 million people are in the NRA, if this country is attacked we have an instant militia, because god knows the military wouldnt come to protect me at my house, i guess I'll do it myself.
