I really liked the early days of Rick Wright, he did very magical sounding stuff. (ex astronomie domine, saucerful of secrets) It almost sounded like something youd hear in space or something. I know that sounds weird but he had such a great playing style then. I think it flowed together nicely during darkside of the moon and Wish You Were Here. But songs like echoes, astronomie domine, and saucerful of secrets i find to be really creative and haunting.

i doubt anyone knows what the hell im talking about

tell me your favorite era of rick wright and what playing styles of his you liked best
I like his early stuff better, plus he sang more.
I agree with Dannoe that the era with Syd Barrett till Animals is the best. At that time everyone still had his own output, before Roger Waters became crosser and decided that HE was the musical leader. The Wall may be a masterpiece and a milestone in music history and with no doubt one of the best albums the group made, I don't like it so much for more than one reason.
HIis Syd era stuff
I really like his earlier stuff cause he was definitely involved more
Rick rocks the Organ pretty damn hard on "Take Up Thy Stethescope and Walk".
I am partial to the earlier stuff. Especially things he did on OBC and Zabriskie Point. Love Scene Version 4 is one of my all time favorite Rick tunes, along with Stay, Summer 68, and Mudmen. The entire OBC album is classic Rick. So sad that he is no longer with us.

Of the later stuff, his organ on live versions of Raving and Drooling is so deliciously dark and demonic. Love it. Biggrin
relics in 1971 at he`s best The distinctive sound of Rick :-)
Live at Pompeii era.

His best organ work was in the song ASFoS; IMO.
I thought he was awesome in the 1977 tour And wish you were here
