Well I had to vote for Richard Wright of course! Then again, I'm probly "just a little" (and I mean alot) biased. :D
Next I would have probably voted for Ray Manzareck of the Doors, you can really hear the keyboard/synthesizer in those songs.

I say Ray Manzareck just because of the sheer speed. Though he's not as classy as the other guys. It's a tie between Rich and Bill for second. :D

I feel the same way but what I was saying was with Ray's Speed it kind of makes up for not having the most classy organ playing. The most classy person on this list is Richard by far. :)

Needless to say I voted for the estimable Mr. Wright. :)
Others may play faster, and have more of what I'd call "technical merit", but Mr. Wright has got an unparalleled ability to know exactly what's needed when, and to KNOW his abilities. Some musicians do not seem to know themselves in this way, and it shows painfully when one tries to overreach himself. I don't think I've ever heard Mr. Wright overreach himself, and that makes him sound very good--he knows what he has and exactly how to use it.
