I really hope this is true.

1. it was his reasoning for not playing with Roger
2. it would be awesome to hear Rick play and sing again <3

It would also meen that he din't turn Roger down because he didn't want to play with him. There may still be some hope that he will play with Roger and Nick at some point.

I wouldn't count on it....and I certainly wouldn't blame him.

BTW....I'd like Shenmue 3 also!

Rick's cool. And very beautiful.

And the idea of him making a new album gives me an idea (though I've probably mentioned it before on this forum): while he's doing his album, Roger, Dave, and Nick should tour The Final Cut, then when both PF and Rick are finished, they could start on a new album.

Of course, this would rely on Dave wanting to reunite...but we all know every idea about PF reforming hinges on that now.

I doubt that would happen but we can only hope.
Unfortunately, I don't think David would ever consent to touring for the Final Cut. I'm pretty sure that any Floyd reunion would only include material up to and including The Wall--no Final Cut, no Division Bell, etc--David wouldn't want to play the former songs, and Roger wouldn't want to play the latter songs.

That's one of the reasons why Dave has stated that a Floyd reunion would have to include a new album, because he doesn't want to tour as an oldies act.

Barring a full PF reunion (which, believe me, I'd love to see!), I'd like to see Dave, Rick, Dick Parry, Guy Pratt, etc. (basically, David's solo band) become an official band under a new name--they could play PF stuff, Syd stuff, Rick and Dave's solo stuff, and essentially be a surrogate Floyd, without the baggage of the Floyd name.

I like that idea because with all thier input that would make one kick ass album.

Although I prefer Floyd with Roger, I am sorry that the post-Waters Floyd didn't make any more albums, because I think they could have really made some interesting stuff with more input from Rick. But, with David's solo band, you have most of the post-Waters Floyd, and if they became a regular band, the Gilmour/Wright creative partnership could really flower. Also, I think they might be even better if they didn't feel like they had to be Pink Floyd. So, I hope Dave and Rick keep on making music together, no matter what they call it.
The David Gilmour and Richard Wright Quartet.

I think Rick would be more unlikely than Dave to want to play material from The Final Cut.
