does anybody know what the correct pronunciation is?
I believe just as it is spelled, "power toc"
There was a Toch H near my school when I was little, the local people refered to it as a Tock Haitch the H being said as you say the letter in the alphabet. So I would think it would be the same with the 'R' - Pow...ahh...Tock...haitch.
Toc H was the abbreviation for the club (Talbot House) behind enemy lines in Flanders in WWI, which eventually turned into a Christian charity...but I'm still not sure how it was pronounced...Roger has said that it just sounded good...
I always pronounce it "Power Touch" :D
A very nice and weird song, but unfortunately you still could hear that there was something going wrong with Syd, especially by the Look of the Week version. A fantastic performing, but it felt to me as if I were sitting in a rollercoaster. :upside:
Another funny song was Seamus, the howling dog. Then with David Gilmour.
I've always called it "power tocate", or something like that.
power toke? maybe? as in, to toke, powerfully. i dunno.

Man, that's funny.
Yeah, it's Power Torch. A play on words, maybe. I read a history of Floyds recordings but I can't remember the anecdote sorry.
