i think that it was good that pink floyd got rid of sid. but i also think that syd is also the reason for many of pink floyds albums. like in brain damage the line " you raise the blade, you make the change, you rearange me till i'm sain" refers to syds opperation where they took out the frontal lobe of his brain. i think in the end it was better off that syd left, but i think that he is also the driving force behind pink floyds awsome lryics and musical style!

hmm... i never heard about syd getting a lobotamy... of course I don't know as much as i should about syd. And yeah, I think getting rid of syd was of course beneficial and necessary but only because of his condition.

this thread is stupid. The guy who started seems to be saying thatwhilst he thinks syd wasn't very talented, it was good to have loony around to write lyrics about and sell more albums. that sucks
