ive heard that he turned into a crazy schizophrenic or something. what made him go crazy and where is he now?

he burnt out from extreme over-usage of drugs and became uncordinated and just messed up. he couldnt handle being in front of a crowd on stage, let alone barely play guitar. (that's why they got gilmour) years later he kind of got it back together and made a few albums, like 1 or 2...he is now isolated, he doesnt like to make news of any kind, especially with any member of floyd.

its sad, though, that that would happen to someone so promising and talented. i can't imagine what people like syd or pete best (drummer for the beatles before being replaced by ringo starr) feel like after their former band becomes world popular just after they leave it.

but yes, a shame none the less

Lives with Mum and Sister in Cambridge and reportedly paints all the time. Rarely ever leaves house. Hates speaking to anyone. Hates to be reminded he was ever in PF. Has reverted to his birth name of Roger Barrett.

I read somewhere that his mom passed away. Is this true, or just another of the many Syd rumors?

Yeah, he lives on his own now apparently. I think his mum died about 10 years ago. I know someone who lives in the same street as him. He isn't even a fan, he just knows him as that recluse from Pink Floyd.
