I've heard that the "directors cut" is horrible, but that's all I can find on Amazon.

Any help would be nice.

It is possibly the second best DVD of all time (after Pulse).
*waits for Eric*

Anyway, The Director's Cut and the original version are both on the same DVD. Or at least they are on mine anyway. The Director's Cut is many times better. The original is just the music and less adventurous photography.

:D I like the space shots that were added to original film.
Do you guys like the dvd better than the vcr version? For me I like the computerised Pompeii being leveled, and the extra black and white interviews.

the black and white intrview snippets could of been a extra and the directors cut is kinda shite booooooooooooooooring space shots rubbish pointless CGI :sleepy: ???

Give me the original version anyday luckly its on the dvd too thank god
The original version was good, but what's wrong with the director wanting to add a little creativity to the movie.Im certain Pink Floyd liked it.After all, space travel was an original interest for them. :blues:
Nick wants pie......lol....the fatty! lol jk :upside:
The Doctor has Live at Pompeii up on a podcast.

You can download it here

It's the one entitled "Soundtracks (part 1)" take two (Sat, 31 March 2007)
One of the best rock dvd's ever the new version is great and has improved it alot. To me floyd and science fiction go hand in hand even if the band may not feel that way

ASTRONOMY DOMINE
INTERSTELLAR OVERDRIVE
SET THE CONTROLS FOR THE HEART OF THE SUN
CIRRUS MINOR
ONE OF THESE DAYS ( the dr who theme)

and more
I bought the DVD about 3 months ago and never got around to watching it for whatever reason, but finally got to it about a month ago and loved it. Even though I have been a huge Pnk Floyd fane for near on 15 years, I still believe it or not hadn't heard CWTAU. ??? Seeing ASOS live was just crazy, I must say that I never really got into it when listening to it from ASOS, but seeing it live was just a crazy experience, to see how they actually play it is something entirely different.

I loved the concept of it and although the original was great I would have to give the Directors Cut the slight edge.
