I remember not too long someone making a post of analyzing Syd as a musician. Mainly out of that people said he was creative and what not (wasn't there also a question about Syd as a guitarist?). Anyhow, what do you all think of Syd as a singer? Now I know we don't have too much to look from (Piper/Jugband Blues/if you know any of his solo albums)but I think it's enough. How does Syd rate as a singer to you?
Well, he's obviously not a great singer in the usual sense, but he's definitely unique, and that's more important anyway. Personally I find his voice very nice.
He's okay, not great. I can't picture anyone else singing to his music, though.
