Waters was due to be the headline act at the Glastonbury Festival, England, last weekend, after completing the In The Flesh Tour (see my review of the last show of the tour in this category). Was anyone there or has anyone seen any pictures or heard any reports of how it went?

i saw it on tv - bASically , it seemed like the indoor dates but shorter and with less solo stuff. Adam and Joe liked it. seemed to look quite cool as the sun went down

Would have loved to have been there. Even seeing it on TV would have been quite good, I'm sure. Must speak to the friends of mine who were there for their comments.

Glastonbury is notorious for poor sound quality, so I hear - we were lucky being surrounded by the awesome quadrophonic sound in Wembley and having a much better view than one would be likely to get at a huge festival. May go to Glastonbury next year however. Should be fun whatever happens.

noffin wrong witha hippie

- simps - 07-08-2002 02:44 PM

If there's something wrong with the hippy way of life I haven't found it.

- wowser - 07-08-2002 03:10 PM

nah - it's good stuff. just loose the clothes (not literally)

- simps - 07-08-2002 03:22 PM

The clothes are all part of it. It looks so strange and unnatural to smoke a joint while dressed in the Gap brand or something. A Scooby-Doo style Volkswagen Van would really make the hippy lifestyle complete.

My mom dressed like a hippy though claimed she never actually was one.

There's nothing I like more than women dressed as hippies.

- Freddie - 07-09-2002 06:37 AM

maybe thats why the way you are then?

- wowser - 07-09-2002 11:22 AM

i prefer women undressed

I saw Roger Waters at Glastonbury and he was fucking AMAZING!! He had a quadraphonic sound set up and when the helicopter sound came in during the wall everyone was looking up at the sky trying to find it. Aso the when you've got dogs barking from all around the field and disembodied laughter from unknown quaters it can be a little more than unnerving.

- wowser - 09-03-2002 10:50 AM

yeah, cool show innit?

The quadrophonic sound was amazing when I saw him at Wembley. Was not sure if it would work quite so well in a huge outdoor venue. Must have been great to be there, but I saw him with Nick Mason, so I'm happy. If he plays again next year I'll probably go.
