- ollienbelle - 08-19-2003 11:10 AM I am a freshman in college and part of orientation if figuring out a bunch of riddles in a scavenger hunt type thing. well one of the tasks i have to complete is.... name a pink floyd song about love and romance hint... the song is NOT wish you were here. can anyone think of any other possibilities for what this song could be? - FloydWright - 08-19-2003 12:06 PM Hmm... Pigs on the Wing is somehow related to the love between Roger and Caroline Waters... Stay and Summer '68 also pertain to "romance"--but of the one-night-stand variety. Personally, I think the first is the most likely, but I'm not sure. - ollienbelle - 08-19-2003 01:44 PM i asked about both of those....and was told neither of those were the song they were looking for. There must be some other song I am not thinking of....but what? Never thought any question about Pink Floyd could ever stump me so much. Any other ideas? - scarlet eagle - 08-19-2003 05:33 PM The only other one that I could think of would be One Slip.[I] Pink Floyd didn't really sing much about love and romance. There are probably only 2 or 3 songs in their entire library that even use the word love. - scrubbo - 08-19-2003 06:18 PM how about Julia Dream? - G Thing - 08-20-2003 03:33 PM - simps - 08-21-2003 11:18 PM - Jintzey - 08-23-2003 09:29 PM I don't think I've ever associated love and romance with ANY Pink Floyd song, except for relationships gone bad. Does it have to be about something good? - Jintzey - 08-23-2003 09:33 PM This is a stretch but it seems to be good and about love more or less. The lyrics to Biding my Time (http://www.pinkfloydonline.com/lyrics/relics.html): Wasting my time, resting my mind and I'll never pine for the sad days and the bad days when we was working from nine to five And if you don't mind I'll spend my time here by the fireside in the warm light of the love in her eyes - Jintzey - 08-23-2003 09:39 PM I got it, how about Candy And A Currant Bun? Though more about lust than love it seems but it's worth a shot. Oh my, girl sitting in the sun Go buy, candy and a currant bun I like, to see you run Like that... Oooh, don't talk to me Please just f*** with me Please you know I'm feeling frail It's true, sun shining very bright It's you, who I'm gonna love tonight Ice cream, taste good in the afternoon Ice cream, taste good if you eat it soon Oooh, don't touch me child Please you know you drive me wild Please you know I'm feeling frail Don't try another cat Don't go where other you must know why Very very very frail Oh my, girl sitting in the sun Go buy, candy and a currant bun I like, to see you run Like that... Edited By Jintzey on 1061703730 - simps - 08-23-2003 10:28 PM That's a great Syd song I'd almost forgotten about. - PFOnline - 08-24-2003 06:00 PM Moving this to the general Floyd category... - Crazydiamond1970 - 08-26-2003 07:25 AM Scarlet Eagle was spot on with this, the song IS ONE SLIP off AMLOR :music: ![]() Edited By Crazydiamond1970 on 1061911560 - DeRick - 01-19-2004 11:32 AM This is just one of the small reasons why I love PF: NO FREAKING LOVE SONGS!! - Seamus - 01-19-2004 01:27 PM True. - floydhead928 - 01-19-2004 03:24 PM I would have to say Don't Leave Me Now, but that has to do with splitting up, which is dealing with love.
- floydianyid - 01-28-2004 02:52 AM don't leave me now, no way man that more like despair than romance, i think the closest song is BIKE by a mile - Dark Side Of The Moon - 04-11-2004 05:00 PM I don't know could it be Vera or Don't Leave Me Now (his love)? - forksinatoaster - 04-12-2004 09:07 PM i was thinking maybe "If" like "if i was a good man i'd spend more time with you" (quoting from memory so sue me) - Myriad Small Creature - 04-12-2004 10:44 PM Precisely my thought. - triangel - 04-13-2004 02:07 AM Isn't 'dogs of war' an epic-love-ballad-extavaganza dedicated to Roger from Dave? :upside: - Nora - 04-13-2004 03:23 AM DeRick Wrote:This is just one of the small reasons why I love PF: NO FREAKING LOVE SONGS!!exactly, i totally agree with u.

Though more about lust than love it seems but it's worth a shot.It was originally titled "Let's Roll Another One", changed by request originally from the BBC, I believe, because of the obvious drugs references in the title and the lyrics, (which were subsequently changed also.) Most of you would know that anyway, just reminding you that it may sound like a love song, but wasn't at first. It also explains any feeling it is about lust or wanting, perhaps. - bak2life - 05-01-2004 07:06 PM What about Coming Back to Life. Love between Dave and his wife. |
