Do you know what any of the songs from The Final Cut were replaced by? I think One Of The Few was replaced by Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 or The Happiest Days Of Our Lives.

Happiest Days might have replaced Hero's Return, since the theme of both of them is what's behind the teacher's malice.
The Final Cut itself is almost like Goodbye Cruel World, but only superficially, and the end is very different.
When The Tigers Broke Free is obviously the same theme as Another Brick In The Wall Part One and Bring The Boys Back Home.
It's pretty obvious, as you said, that One of the Few is about the schoolmaster. The whispering voice saying 'teach...' says it all.
It's important to remember that a lot of The Final Cut was written AFTER The Wall was released, so some of the songs may not have been written for The Wall originally.

Wall out-takes
Songs not good enough for the Wall film
Songs written during the Wall tour

Yeah, they really screwed up with one thing.
They left off "What Shall We Do Now" from The Wall (for either time reasons or for the sake of story conciseness, depending on who you ask) but put it in the movie, and then left "When The Tigers Broke Free" off The Final Cut but put IT in the movie, too!
In two parts, no less.

It was removed for time constraints.
They were going to put tigers on Final Cut, but they thought it didn't fit in anywhere. That's why it sticks out like a sore thumb on the new remaster.

Does anyone else find that When The Tigers Broke Free really derails the story of the album? It's a good, moody song, that fits the theme and music, but it also seems to put unnecessary interference between One Of The Few and The Hero's Return.
