- Pink Doors - 04-08-2007 08:46 PM Sorry if this has been done before Throughout watching the Pink Floyd DVDs and listening to their interviews, it occured to me that they are pretty funny. With that being said who is the funniest? IMO it is Roger Waters, from reading his latest interview with RS (about the pig with balls on it) to what he said about suing Andrew Lloyd Weber, he seems to be the funniest. Edited By Pink Doors on 1176094036 - The Floyd Experience - 04-08-2007 10:49 PM I think it has to be Nick Mason, from watching him on the 'Live at Pompeii' DVD he seems to have the most english sense of humor. - pinkfloydfan1 - 04-09-2007 01:15 AM Yes i agree, i voted for Nick he seems to have the typical english humour feeling about him. - whong - 04-09-2007 02:34 AM Very close toss up between Roger and Nick......in the end, had to go with Roger though. The bigger the nose, the bigger the laugh. Nick is right behind him though.....any guy who looks like a parrot with a bad haircut deserves recognition too! - Wings on the Pig - 04-09-2007 03:02 AM Nick by far. Watching him at Pompeii can always gt me laughing. - The Painter Piper and Prisoner - 04-09-2007 07:33 AM i have to say roger because, in an interview, where they were talking about how david, nick and rick added testicles to rogers pig after his departure and Roger's quote was "So they put balls on my pig, **** them" - IbanezIsTheColour - 04-09-2007 03:52 PM I say Nick. He seems like the most layed back person in the band too. - Relic - 04-09-2007 04:16 PM It's Nick for me by miles. I always thought that was his thing (apart from the drumming). He is the funny one on the band. From all the things I've seen him on, whether it be on Live at Pompeii DVD, The Making of The Dark Side Of The Moon DVD, The Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd Story DVD, the interview he did at Live8 or his Top Gear appearance, he has been quite funny. He is naturally funny, whereas the stuff from Roger is just him taking swipes at people (which is almost always funny). - Khaz - 04-10-2007 06:36 AM Inside out. Nuff said. And what did Andrew Loyd Weber do to piss Roger off. - FelicityKendall'sUnderwear - 04-10-2007 11:43 AM Nick. "Inside Out", baby! That book is funny as hell. Some of the best parts: when Nick describes how the roadies' punishment was lugging around Dave's rowing machine; how Rick got pissed off at Roger, the first time they met, because Roger ripped the plastic wrapper off of Rick's cigarettes; the famous incident when Algie the pig got loose ("fingers were pointed, scapegoats nominated"). Nick's the man. - flaming_pie - 04-11-2007 05:15 AM Nick Mason, hands down He baked the world's largest scone for god's sake!! :p - Wings on the Pig - 04-11-2007 07:58 AM FelicityKendall'sUnderwear Wrote:Nick. I love the bit when he is discussing how, when the record company first met David, they thought he would take over the band. Then Nick says 'they obviously failed to notice the rather tall bass player standing at the back of te room'. Classic. - Jintzey - 04-11-2007 09:02 AM Nick Mason of course! I haven't listened to it myself but I heard that the audio book version of "Inside Out" is even funnier than the print version, where Nick tends to joke around a lot more. - The Painter Piper and Prisoner - 04-11-2007 02:51 PM The Painter Piper and Prisoner Wrote:i have to say roger because, in an interview, where they were talking about how david, nick and rick added testicles to rogers pig after his departure and Roger's quote was "So they put balls on my pig, **** them" :laugh:helloooooooo does anybody find Rogers comment ammusing at all? does anybody find Roger funny besides me? i will add though Nick Mason is funny! - flaming - 04-11-2007 04:10 PM Nick all the way .... hes the goffy ...... :p - Grguitarfreek100 - 04-11-2007 04:40 PM when Meddle got a bad review, nick sent the critic a gift box with a boxing glove on a spring. - Pink Doors - 04-11-2007 04:40 PM Weber alledgedly plagarised from "Echoes". - Khaz - 04-11-2007 05:57 PM Yeh I found that out last night. It's his song Phantom of the opera, he stole part of it from Echoes. I've listened to both and its deffinatly the same and Roger says "It's the same time signature - it's 12/8 - and it's the same structure and it's the same notes and it's the same everything". After hearing this and listening to both songs I have lost all respect for lloyd f***in weber. - Wings on the Pig - 04-12-2007 02:59 AM Khaz Wrote:Yeh I found that out last night. It is atrocious really. ??? - Rogerwaterhasgonemad - 04-12-2007 02:50 PM its a mircale yeah phantom came out in 86 - Dragonrider - 04-12-2007 02:52 PM I think both Roger and Nick is great. I remember watching on of Roger's clips on the final cut and this bloke run in and stole a rocket and run away again, I was in stictchers. Both rock, but I voted Rog because his sense of humour is very close to mine. It's only Aussie to bag people for fun, even if it's yourself. :D - Sir Frankie Crisp - 04-21-2007 07:52 PM Nick and Roger are both very funny. That said, anyone remember Gilmour attempting to juggle with fire? Made me laugh. - Evander - 04-21-2007 08:02 PM Nick definitely! Seeing him in Live at Pompeii and other interviews always makes me laugh. - Never Fear 33 Is Here - 04-21-2007 08:03 PM I have to go with Nick with Roger a close second. Roger has the sense of humor where he makes fun of other people, which whilst amusing isn't always well received. Daniel - powrtoch66 - 04-23-2007 10:34 AM definlately roger or nick syd is an obivious(pardon the spelling yet again) choice - Comfortably9Numb - 04-23-2007 06:29 PM ya...its close with rog or nick...but the pie with no crust thing kills me everytime i think of it...that story alone makes him the funniest
- powrtoch66 - 04-26-2007 11:08 AM does any think syd is drop dead funny - powrtoch66 - 04-26-2007 11:09 AM Comfortably9Numb Wrote:ya...its close with rog or nick...but the pie with no crust thing kills me everytime i think of it...that story alone makes him the funniestNot to go off topic but I see you are from my neck of the woods - Khaz - 04-28-2007 02:17 PM There was also the incident where Dave drove a motorbike around a restaurant. - Firefox22 - 04-28-2007 02:25 PM i prefer nick's very english humor :p plus, his book "inside out" is a great read and is pretty funny  RE: Funniest Band Member - Pig (The Third One) - 04-07-2010 04:38 PM I thought it would be nice to revive this thread. I voted for Nick. :) RE: Funniest Band Member - Lady Floydian - 04-07-2010 04:53 PM Definitely Nick. If you've read Inside Out, you'd get it. Also, drummers are always a little "off", which adds to their charm. RE: Funniest Band Member - Libbywaters74D - 05-26-2010 01:26 PM Nick Mason is a very funny guy if you haven't gotten it yet buy Inside Out. He is a funny laid back guy that goes with the flow and tries not to get in the drama of the rest of the band. Roger Waters is very funny if you listen to his interviews and music. He can be really funny. RE: Funniest Band Member - Lady Floydian - 05-26-2010 02:25 PM Nick's hilarious. The whole "apple pie with no crust" thing in Pompeii is too funny. Funnier than the oyster bit. RE: Funniest Band Member - Libbywaters74D - 05-26-2010 05:36 PM they both were funny. I like them both. Nick is cute with the crustless pie. Roger can be a smart@$$ somtimes but he can be pretty funny. RE: Funniest Band Member - silverpot - 05-27-2010 08:20 AM Nick, definitely. He can also really write. Its a pity he never wrote any lyrics, it would have been a welcome change from all the doom and gloom. RE: Funniest Band Member - Lady Floydian - 05-27-2010 09:05 AM He did write some lyrics, actually: The Merry X-Mas song (although it's unreleased). I think with his sense of humor and overall persona, while an incredibly funny and likable guy......he'd make a horrible songwriter. LOL RE: Funniest Band Member - Floydy - 06-07-2010 12:44 AM Roger Waters and Gerald Scarffes Comentary on The Wall DVD. "What are those flowers doing Gerald?" RE: Funniest Band Member - Libbywaters74D - 06-07-2010 11:46 AM yes Roger and Gerald were very funny during the Comentary like how Roger wanted to wear jeans in his early teens but he had to wear knickers and he said something about boys who had to wear knickers in theor early teens turn into Bleeding Heart Arists. It was kind of cute. RE: Funniest Band Member - Floydy - 06-08-2010 12:23 PM At the beginning of the film with the MGM Lion Roger; "I remember this bit." Gerald; "Yes I remember this bit." Roger ; "With the big pussy cat." Gerald; "Done in the London Zoo wasn't it?" Roger; "Yeah." Cracks me up every time. |
