If anyone is interested, I run a Pink Floyd internet stream, Radio Spectre, that from time to time plays PF shows for people to listen to. The site link is here:

http://www.planetspectre.com/radio.htm

You can also check the above link to see if the station is online.

Enjoy,
Spectre

- Steve Hill - 11-13-2005 02:10 PM

All we need is for the doctor to return and we will have two dedicated PF stations being advertised and listened to on here. :)

- Woof Oink Baaa - 11-16-2005 01:22 AM

I always thought this would be a great idea since I found RushRadio. Is there any possibility that you can get someone else to work on it so we can have it stream 24/7?

I have to say, Spec, that when broadcasting your stream is most impressive. If only it could play constantly! Is there anyway you can configure your ShoutCast (or whatever you're using) settings to do this, or could you create a HTML code that will broadcast your radio on-site if applied to another webpage? I would gladly link back to you through such a method. You have played some really great shows tonight, but where's the Roger love? :)

- Spectre - 11-19-2005 05:05 PM

Hehehe...thanks. Problem is, I dont normally run it 24/7. I do *alot* of filesharing [bittorrent and DC++ hub] so I tend to shut the station down to increase bandwidth. Sometimes I play shows. Other times, Ill fire up all my official PF releases and play songs randomly. I also get free service thru Streamguys, so I dont have to run the server from my system...they provide the server and 15 slots at 64kbps [even tho I broadcast at 96kbps].

Feel free to link to my website or the sig I use that shows whats playing. Ill try to broadcast more often if the interest is out there to listen.

- Jintzey - 11-23-2005 07:23 PM

Why do we have to be bored to enjoy PF? :D I've been listening for the past few minutes now...good stuff. :)

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 07:28 AM

Thanks...not too many people seem interested tho...oh well...Ill still broadcast from time to time.

- pic3789 - 11-24-2005 08:25 AM

im pretty interested, but usually when i try to listen, you aren't broadcasting and i dont feel as good as if i were listening to it

how often do you broadcast?

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 09:31 AM

Varies...Ive been broadcasting for quite alot lately...at one point it was running for 2 days and most of the time there was only 1 or 2 people listening. Ill start broadcasting again shortly.

Spectre

- pointmeatthesky - 11-24-2005 11:51 AM

Spectre Wrote:Thanks...not too many people seem interested tho...oh well...Ill still broadcast from time to time.
I'm very interested too, but I'm usually not around to listen during your broadcasts. :;):

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 05:35 PM

You're listening now, so enjoy the music :)

- Jintzey - 11-24-2005 05:38 PM

Yep, just tuned in and I'm enjoying. :)

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 05:43 PM

Normally I broadcast concerts, but sometimes I like playing random songs from official releases. If people have specific requests, there is a page off my website that lists [most of] the shows I have.

Spectre

- Jintzey - 11-24-2005 05:45 PM

Just told some friends you're currently broadcasting. Maybe some of them will tune in.

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 05:47 PM

Been bouncing between 4 and 6 listeners most of the day....plenty of room for more. :music:

- Jintzey - 11-24-2005 05:50 PM

I got a request... any good version of Echoes live please? (Is there a such thing as a bad version? hehe) :music:

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 05:56 PM

Can do...will play something after Sorrow...

- Jintzey - 11-24-2005 06:10 PM

- Jintzey - 11-24-2005 06:28 PM

My friends and I just LOVED that version of Echoes, a nice jammy version. We're loving Have A Cigar too. rocker

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 06:31 PM

Both are my personal fav versions of those songs...as well as the next song Im about to play.

- Jintzey - 11-24-2005 06:33 PM

What's the source of Have a Cigar? We all want to download/trade it now. :D

- Spectre - 11-24-2005 06:35 PM

Thats a very common show...I love the way Dave screws up the lyrics near the beginning and Roger comes in early for a sec on the next set...

- pic3789 - 12-03-2005 05:25 PM

im listening to this, and it seems to be skipping a lot. i don't know if it's cuts that the bootlegger made or cd problems or something, but it is a good performance so far.

- Spectre - 12-03-2005 06:56 PM

I had a couple instances where my bandwidth was stressed, causing some clipping. Should be fine now.

Thanks,
Spectre

- thesykos - 12-05-2005 10:32 AM

- Spectre - 12-05-2005 04:53 PM

Glad you are enjoying it. :)

- pic3789 - 12-05-2005 07:30 PM

i'm liking this Great Gig on the Moon one. i love the 1972 versions of 'On the Run.' they should have kept it as an instrumental jam IMO. very good sound quality. is this a soundboard recording?

- Spectre - 12-05-2005 08:16 PM

Its an audience recording:

[code:1]Pink Floyd
1972-03-12
The Great Gig On The Moon
Sapporo, Japan
CD -> WAV -> FLAC

It is an audience recording and is therefore not as good
quality as (say) the BBC Session recordings. However, it
is one of the best audience recordings I have heard. Artwork
included. No MD5 files available.

http://www.pf-roio.de/roio/roio-cd/great_gig_moon.cd.html

01 - Speak To Me
02 - Breathe
03 - On The Run
04 - Time
05 - The Great Gig In The Sky
06 - Money
07 - Us And Them I
08 - Us And Them II
09 - Any Colour You Like
10 - Brain Damage, Eclipse
11 - One Of These Days
12 - Careful With That Axe,Eugene

Eelhouse [August 2004] [/code:1]

One of my personal fav shows from 72.

Spectre

- pinkfloydfan1 - 12-23-2005 07:21 AM

can u not embed an html tag in the background of the board so we can get it to play in the background

- Spectre - 12-23-2005 04:31 PM

It wouldnt be hard but PFOnline was strict about allowing images in posts and dealing with bandwidth. I dont want to mess with the site.

Ill update this thread from time to time as I broadcast....

Thanks,
Spectre

Jintzey Wrote:Is there a problem with the page? It doesn't seem to be working right for me or my friend who tried it.
i tried too and failed. my winamp said like error streaming or something.

- Albatross - 07-12-2006 08:44 PM

Okay I got it to work.

When I clicked the "Listen-Winamp" link I got a white page with text. Well you can paste that url into winamp and it will play. Awesome!

- Jintzey - 07-12-2006 09:07 PM

I tried doing that with the non-winamp links in the appropriate players and it still didn't work for me. Hmm. ??? Used to work just fine before so I don't know why it won't work now. Server overload perhaps?

- Albatross - 07-12-2006 09:14 PM

I think it is the constant Interstellar Overdrive playing! It is disrupting the fabric of space and time causing connection problems.

http://war.str3am.com:8070 is what I pasted.

EDIT: There it is again! Don't try to connect or your PC might explode.
