I think it would be a great idea to start a forum specifically for LYRICS. Not just Pink Floyd relations, but also other musicians and their songs. This sort of forum would include songs and their credits - original artists, etc. I would really like to be a part of a forum like that... it would be awesome and a help to a lot of people seeking information. Say, you hear a song on a radio station but you don't know who sings it. You don't want to make a bunch of rubbish topics in the OTW forum... so you could post in this new forum, by reciting a bit of lyrics.
Erm... this is just my idea. I have been procrastinating about getting this topic up, because lyrics are a strong part of my life and song credts too.. EVERYDAY I look music up.. I just thought this would be a good feature. :)

I like this idea FantasticFloyd. It's the lyrics of songs that really get me into it. Music is the hook but the lyrics keep me digging.

I don't know how to go about obtaining permission or consent to create such a thing ... any idea? I really think a new forum like this would be awesome.

I do kinda like the idea but I'm not sure it would warrant an entire area by itself...I also imagine that PF's viewpoint, and I agree, is that this is a PF board, Outside the Wall is for general discussion but all of the other areas are concerned with PF...why not just start a topic in OTW, if enogh people discuss it it will stay up near the top...

And it was discussed briefly recently that there are perhaps too many boards here already. If we add another, it would be hard to keep track of them all. I do like the idea in principle though.

:blues: I guess it isn't happening, so I made a lyrics topic in "Outside the Wall" just because I was getting tired of waiting for some sort of permission to make a forum. Maybe it's just me, but I feel that lyrics are THE most important part of music. That's why I suggested it.

We have a song and poetry corner in Outside the Wall. Sometimes you gotta dig for it though.

Generally though, if you just go to google and type in those few lyrics you do know and the word lyrics at the end, you will almost always get a positive result. Those few that don't work or you don't know any of the lyrics for wouldn't warrant a full board and/or might not be of much use anyway. Saying I heard this song and it went a bit like do dee dar hum hee, wouldn't always get the answer you were looking for, if an answer at all.

How about Outside The Wall as a forum of its own with sub forums? I have noticed alot of posting in OTW. If it were it's own forum it wouldn't take up so much board room.

theres already a page bout lyrics on the main site can we not get a mod for that page so they can put more lyrics to albums that aint complete
