Your signal Chain! - Grguitarfreek100 - 06-03-2009 08:27 PM

Hey guys, I'm just curious what everyone is using in their signal chain pedal wise. Feel free to suggest pedals and such!

My signal goes from my guitar to: ST-2 Guyatone Compression/Sustainer, Dunlop Crybaby Wah, Arion Tubulator, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Big Muff, H20 Liquid Chorus/Delay.

I run it all direct, i think something is wrong with my effects loop.

I really shouldn't need two Overdrive Pedals, but the Tubulator was a $20 knockoff of the Tubescreamer that I got about 6 years ago, and only recently discovered that I had lying around. Its actually really good.

When I run both overdrives together I get a much heavier sounding crunch, which is pretty nifty.

Id reccomend.

Dunlop Crybaby Wah >>> ST-2 Guyatone >> Ibanez Tubescreamer >> Big Muff >> Tubulator >> Delay

I would drop the tubulator if it were me and let the amps tubes work there magic.

I dont use my effects loop either.

My current setup goes

Guitar >> Wah > Compressor> Booster > Od > Eq> Noise Suppresor > Univibe > Chorus > Talkbox > Delay > Reverb >>

Left Channel Into My Head With The Bright Switch On For A Small Boost.
Right Channel Into My 2nd Head With The Bright Switch On But A Slightly Higher Treble Setting.
Noise Suppresor Fx 2 Out Goes Into A Di Box Then Back In To Ns Fx Return.

So I Can get Both My Acoustic Tones And My Electric Tones Through The Same Setup.

Im doing that caps thing again for some reason .... sorry ....

Current main setup. I don't use the effect loop either. The order of the pedals change from time to time... :-)

Danelectro DC3 > Gollmer Blues OD > Digitech Whammy > Moogerfooger Ring Modulator > Ibanez Phazer > Boss Flanger > Ibanez Digital Delay > Laney VC-30 Amp

I would instruct him to follow the instructions of pinkfloydfan1. He has given a detailed reply to his query. But I am a little skeptical about what he has suggested regarding dropping tubulator. It is not sensible to drop tubulator and depend heavily on amps tubes. This is because amps tubes will never be able to replace tubulator. Regarding the effects loop, I think in order to have better effects it is good to use it. If there is any problem with effects loop he should rectify it.
