When I first joined this forum it seemed like everyone and all the threads were really active, and great threads/post were being posted everywhere, all over the forum.....
now it seems like the only thing getting attention are threads in "Outside the Wall" section......im lucky to see one new thread posted in a day in any of the other categories.
seems like to me everyone is now coming to a Floyd website to talk about other stuff than Floyd, which is perfectly alright, but lets see more Floyd!
Just my opinion people.....

Well, I think the Floyd topics have been re-hashed quite a bit over the years, so nobody has anything left to say.
But I don't even listen to Pink Floyd, so I'm not really sure why I'm here.

idk, i know many many topics have been brought up over the past. But I still believe there are many more topics and forums to start. and if there aren't........then screw it lets make the same topic to get the Floyd conversations started

I'm sure ppl have already taken part in every discussion possible in this forum about the Floyd, so it's nothing left to say. Even if you post in some old thread you might just be repeating an old user's opinion or changing someone's point of view. I'm looking foward for some new users to come up with some more new topics about the PF though. I'm positive that we still got things to explore about the band, mainly because some members are still alive, so that gives us the hope to hear from them soon.

yeh i agree this sites dying on its arse.... i read the 100 best floyd thigns book and they desribed this sight as badly designed waste of space.... was a funny read. i even took a picture of the page somewere...

Don't be hesitant to bump threads you're interested in or if they're really old just start a new one. There are ebbs and flows to any forum and certain criticisms get quite tiring after a while. The issue of actual news is the difficulty, it would be much easier if Roger put something new out. I'm sure David will, but who knows when.
Besides that pfo has always been a community style forum, people come and go, some stay and stay. This won't change, I quite like it just how it is.

Yeah, much like Pink Floyd, everything to say about this topic has been said already. Discussing the same old stuff gets tiring, which is why Outside the Wall is great because you can discuss other music, artists who are actually doing things, or your life, or your other interests outside Floyd. Personally, I don't listen to Floyd much either, so I'm not quite sure why I stick around either. :P

Nothing new to talk about, DSOTM was the zenith of their career, they started plaining out after WYWH, the Wall was good but not that great. Bob Ezrin had used all his musical brainstorms producing Alice Cooper & KISS, so their wasn't much ideas left for the Wall, sota like been there done that. He's living rather well on A.C. & KISS royalties though. As for Whong, maybe Og convinced him to move on to.....

I find myself visiting less often. I think the problem is the fact that there is no new exciting news. A lot of the topics have been discussed many times on more then 1 thread. Now, if by some miracle, someone decides to release new material or tour then this board will light up like a Christmas tree. It's not just this site that is having the problem but other ones as well.

well thats exactly my point...... with a little over 100 post its obvious I'm new here, except the only difference is when I first joined not too long ago, everytime I clicked view new post all I saw was Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd, songs and albums, pink floyd, pink floyd, david gilmour, pink floyd, songs and albums, roger waters,.....etc.
now about 3+ or so weeks later.....outside the wall, outside the wall, outside the wall, outside the wall, outside the wall, outside the wall, outside the wall, outside the wall
and I'll never get bored of PFO Pink Flow, just want to talk about Floyd when i come to a Floyd forum! I still enjoy reading everyones outside the wall threads, there hilarious!. I just love sharing my knowledge of Floyd and hearing everyone else

Pink Floyd isn't releasing anything new, or doing anything, and Rick is dead. What's left to talk about that hasn't been said? Oh, that's right. Everything else, (i.e. the point of Outside the Wall). I agree with Eric. I haven't been listening to too much Floyd lately, so I come to talk about bands and music that are actually still together. Floyd was amazing, along with so many other bands, but there's no new material, which means we will forever be left with the stuff there is now. Hence, not a whole lot left to talk about.

That would make things seem a little contrived though don't you think? Talking about the Floyd simply for the sake of talking about them, when there is still nothing new or interesting to say and saying the same thing over and over again is a tad pointless in my opinion. Yes this is a Floyd forum, but that doesn't mean thats all we should talk about. The whole reason people joined this forum in the first place is because we are fans of this particular band, we all have that in common, so whats wrong with coming to this forum and talking about other things.

lol nothing is wrong with that Booosh, I guess people are just misinterpreting me a little, I love The Outside the Wall thread & have nothing against it, alot of interesting and hilarious topics are found there and yeah this thread would be lost without it.......I'm just saying....maybe I should go to a Beatles thread to talk about Floyd, or a Zeppelin thread to talk about Floyd...
Just cause nothing exciting has happened with Floyd in a while doesnt mean they have to die in this thread, when 90% of this thread was intended for them. I still think theres many Floyd topics that havent been covered, just have to be creative

In terms of the decline, this forum does ebb and flow, for a period a few months ago it was suddenly really good again, recently discussion has died down. That's the way it goes, nothing to worry about.
I think another thing to be considered is that people who used to post maniacally (I am including myself here) are going through periods of their lives where less time can be commited to a music forum, which is why my post rate has decreased drastically over the past year.
