Ditto, I'll wait for the dvd. Somehow buying The Wall on itunes for a shot at better tickets just polluted it for me and the ticket rates are crazy!

I was successful in getting selected for the presale tickets for Anaheim in December and have just successfully purchased two tickets. They cost a small fortune, but to see Roger playing live will be worth it for me. Ill also try to get to see him when he comes over here to Europe next year. Cant bloody wait!!!!!!!!

Looks like it's going to be the Nassau Coliseum 10/12/10. RogerWaters.com notified me that I was picked for their pre-sale, so I just paid $552 for 2 tickets.

FWIW- I paid $50 for DSOM show about 1/2 way up.
I'd love to be on the floor for the Wall, but dont think I can justify that price, and dont want to support that kind of fleecing.

seeing as he added a date to toronto im sure its totally possible to add a date to NYC...i can't see why he wouldn't from a financial position...im not sure how the rangers affect this timing though...it might be booked for something...if its not booked though im sure he'll add one...i can't see him playing 2 shows in toronto and 2 shows in philly and NOT 2 shows in NYC...which is larger than both of those cities

I'll spend a decent amount of money to see artists I like. I spent $140 on one ticket to see David Gilmour at the Rosemont Theatre back in 2006, and I spent close to $150 for one ticket to see Bruce Springsteen but anything over $300 for either one ticket or two tickets is just insane. I know Roger can command that kind of money because much like David and Bruce, people will pay any price to see them live......but a line should be drawn somewhere. Just because you can charge that much, doesn't mean you should.

yeah, I agree. Feel like concert prices are out of control, w/ TM leading the way. base prices + serv chrg are rediculous! I go to far less shows, and more smaller less-known shows now.
and for the above poster paying $566 for pair, at that point I say forget it, and take the money and buy a nice surround amp, and get the DVD.

I bought two seats for around $130 total including fees. Seats are front row of the arena balcony, directly opposite stage front.
I called one of my oldest friends almost a month ago to see if he wanted to go. Tickets went on sale last Monday and I still had not heard from him so I only got two gambling that I would go with someone else. He called just yesterday and I am glad he wants to go.
Our concert is in late October so I am going to avoid all Roger Waters topics until then so I can go into the concert with an open mind and without suggestions of what to expect.
You'll understand.

For all of those shocked by the price , what did you expect ? It's the Wall , the project that they all lost money on the first time (except Rick who was a contract player at the time ) . As it is , I don't see Roger ereally raking it in , after all it is a arena tour , so he ain't playing any of the really big venues . Me , I paid $270 a ticket and will shell out another $700 for airfare as well as $120 a night for hotel , but you know what , it is worth it to me . However , if he announces a show in Winnipeg later in the next couple of months , I may be kicking myself .

It doesn't matter to me what he's playing -- I think the prices are too high. The fact it's The Wall doesn't mean much to me. He could be touring for Atom Heart Mother and I'd think the ticket prices were outrageous. As it is, I think ticket prices across the board are too high, and that goes for everyone.

I'll be at the 3 first night NY/NJ shows so far.
I got picked for a 6th row pair at Uniondale from the RW.com premium lottery sale but I can't use them since I'm taking my wife and kids to that show so those have to be sold somehow.
I'm going solo at MSG way back in Section 96 but I don't mind since I'll have a dead center view of the show.
Then I have an 8th row pair for IZOD which I might be taking my wife to, if she's agreeable.
I ended up with extras for the 3 shows since friends all came out of the woodwork when I told them of the tour, wanting to go... and when I laid out the $$$, they all bailed. Last time I'll ever do that....

I have tickets for 10/12. Today the NY clasic rock radio station Is advertising a contest for tickets to the 3rd MSQ show on 11/6. The lead in says"Roger Water is back and playing a very special show at MSQ". Another station is hinting a surprise guest may show up. Gee I wonder who that could be? Guess I have to get more tickets.

I doubt Roger would let news of what show David is doing leak. I mean, the whole point of this is to leave the audience each night totally unaware of whether or not he's doing the show until the "there is no pain" part of the song begins and the person at the top of the wall is spotlighted. If it's leaked or anything like that, the element of surprise is totally ruined.
You want that moment when the whole place just loses their collective sh*t for the rest of the song.

I'm wondering when David is going to be making his triumphant appearance. Roger said it was going to be one of the Stateside shows. If he didn't do any of the shows in the New York/New Jersey area, he might be going to one of the shows in Los Angeles, which is where the original Wall concerts started -- that makes the most sense to me, now that I think about it. I would almost guarantee that David is doing one of the shows in Los Angeles.

I'm not sure why, myself. It would make more sense geographically for David to do one of the many shows in the UK or even somewhere else in Europe, but apparently that's what Roger said was going on. Of all his remaining shows on the US leg of the tour, LA/Oakland is the only major city or area left, since New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia didn't happen. I doubt that David would do a show in Atlanta or Miami, frankly.
I doubt David would re-neg on doing a concert, especially after it's been out in the public realm as long as it has.

Went to my second show last night, this one was the added show at Madison Square Garden. A lot of speculation as to weather Gilmour was going to show up.
Well I've laid out $1300+ for 5 tickets since Oct. and still NO DAVID. Unless I had a positive date, I'm done.

It would appear that perhaps Classic Rock Magazine was in error when they said that Roger stated David would do one of the shows in the US. Rumors are he will be making an appearance at one of Roger's shows at the O2 in London in May, which frankly would make more sense. His kids are still in school right now, and in May, they should either be out or just about done for the year, and you know his family will want to be at a gig like that.

I went to the show at US Airways Center last night (Nov. 27th). Of course it was an amazing show. Tears welled up in my eyes the minute In the Flesh? started and I was very shaken up. And then during the Comfortable Numb solo I teared up as well. I like to think that I am tough but honestly the music is so important to me that it just moved me. So amazing. Wish I could go to another. Fantastic experience nonetheless and I was very fortunate to go.

The Chinese have a curse that goes along the lines of " May you live in interesting times " and it appears that I am . I had to pass on the concert in Vancouver on Friday night . More important stuff was going on and no matter who or what was playing , it is still only a concert . Wish there was some way I could have been in both places at the same time , but I look on the bright side , at least I didn't have to face that three hour layover in the Edmonton airport .

The wife and I flew into LAX from London on the 10th of December in time for Rogers concert at Anaheim on the 13th. It was my first concert I have attended in the USA. It was also my first time seeing Roger "in the flesh!" Had excellent seats sitting about 20 rows back on the floor from the front. Without spoiling anything the concert was absolutely amazing, worth every penny. I didnt find one dissapointment in the concert whatsoever. We now have to wait untill 17th May next year to see him (...and maybe David G!!) again.
I saw Pink Floyd play in 1994 during the Pulse tour and now having seen Roger play I almost feel I have come full circle. That circle will be more complete of course, if I ever see Rog, Dave and Nick on stage together!!!!

Not that I think this is an appropriate discussion to be having on this part of the board, but I don't think he's old at all. He's 64, not 104. I'm not an ageist and speaking purely as a heterosexual female, I find him attractive. Always have, and I probably always will. It's not why I got into Pink Floyd, since when I first started listening to their music, I don't think I knew all their names much less what any of them looked like, but I consider his pleasing appearance to be a bonus to his talent, intelligence, personality and compassionate spirit.
Besides, we're all joking around. David is a very happily married man and there are a few lines I will never cross, that being one of them. If he were single on the other hand.....well.......that's another thread.

Now, now......while I fully admit to partaking in lustful gazing upon Mr. Gilmour's countenance and such, I absolutely would not pursue anything with a married man, even if that married man is an idol of mine.

No, not quite. I didn't think you were kidding. Hence why my initial response to you was framed and phrased the way it was. Then you said you were joking. My response to that basically was, I didn't think it was funny and don't like people joking around with me in that manner. I love a good joke and have a sense of humor about myself, but when people say things like that, whether seriously or in jest, I don't like it and will say something.
