what show art thou going to? - Comfortably9Numb - 05-05-2010 05:57 PM hmm...figured i'd just see what (if you are going) shows some of us are going too...I'll be at the Buffalo Show :) center ice, row 15...CAN'T WAIT...i kinda want to go to another show though...maybe Toronto or something RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 05-06-2010 07:32 AM None of them. I can't afford to go and I'd rather see David. RE: what show art thou going to? - Riff Raff - 05-06-2010 02:20 PM Buffalo...row 34 center ice also. I would have traveled to Toronto if he wouldn't have came to Buffalo. I can't wait. Hoping he does a DVD concert from this tour...similar to "in the flesh". RE: what show art thou going to? - Comfortably9Numb - 05-07-2010 06:22 AM yeah...i'd rather have a video from this tour over the dark side tour to be honest...just seeing the wall built is gonna be amazing...what section are you in?? im in 105 RE: what show art thou going to? - Riff Raff - 05-07-2010 07:36 AM (05-07-2010 06:22 AM)Comfortably9Numb Wrote: yeah...i'd rather have a video from this tour over the dark side tour to be honest...just seeing the wall built is gonna be amazing...what section are you in?? im in 105 floor sec f5 I just want anything new from him....the dark side was amazing too, did you see him at Darian? RE: what show art thou going to? - Comfortably9Numb - 05-07-2010 07:42 AM yulp..i was 10 rows from the stage :) and i saw him in cleveland too RE: what show art thou going to? - cevor - 05-07-2010 09:31 AM (05-06-2010 07:32 AM)Electrophile Wrote: None of them. I can't afford to go and I'd rather see David. Ditto, I'll wait for the dvd. Somehow buying The Wall on itunes for a shot at better tickets just polluted it for me and the ticket rates are crazy! I was in beautiful Buffalo last Tuesday night though. Porcupine Tree was massive! RE: what show art thou going to? - iain mchenry - 05-07-2010 10:39 AM I was successful in getting selected for the presale tickets for Anaheim in December and have just successfully purchased two tickets. They cost a small fortune, but to see Roger playing live will be worth it for me. Ill also try to get to see him when he comes over here to Europe next year. Cant bloody wait!!!!!!!! Iain RE: what show art thou going to? - azimuth - 05-07-2010 10:44 AM The ticket prices are insane!!!! I want to go to the Philly show...maybe there'll be some nosebleed seats for less than $100? Wishful thinking, I know. The presale on Roger's website for Philly has tickets for $366 and $566 for a pair! WTF? RE: what show art thou going to? - spinstergirl - 05-07-2010 10:47 AM Looks like it's going to be the Nassau Coliseum 10/12/10. RogerWaters.com notified me that I was picked for their pre-sale, so I just paid $552 for 2 tickets. RE: what show art thou going to? - dgrid - 05-07-2010 11:58 AM $442 for a presale pair in Denver. Crazy prices!! WTF is right. Those are floor, but still. FWIW- I paid $50 for DSOM show about 1/2 way up. I'd love to be on the floor for the Wall, but dont think I can justify that price, and dont want to support that kind of fleecing. There is always the chance he can come back to NYC if MSG is booked, RE: what show art thou going to? - azimuth - 05-10-2010 06:48 AM Just bought three tix for the Nov 9th show at Wachovia Center in Philly. $113 each! Super excited! Even though they are nosebleed seats. Hopefully it will be a decent view of the stage. RE: what show art thou going to? - codayo61 - 05-10-2010 07:48 AM Im going to the MSG show on wendsday (dont remember the date). Im excited $146 for ticket. RE: what show art thou going to? - dgrid - 05-10-2010 10:49 AM just got 2 tix for denver show, $190 for nosebleed pair. crazy prices, but at least Im in. No way I was coughing up $450 for floor. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 05-10-2010 10:54 AM I'll spend a decent amount of money to see artists I like. I spent $140 on one ticket to see David Gilmour at the Rosemont Theatre back in 2006, and I spent close to $150 for one ticket to see Bruce Springsteen but anything over $300 for either one ticket or two tickets is just insane. I know Roger can command that kind of money because much like David and Bruce, people will pay any price to see them live......but a line should be drawn somewhere. Just because you can charge that much, doesn't mean you should. RE: what show art thou going to? - dgrid - 05-10-2010 11:08 AM yeah, I agree. Feel like concert prices are out of control, w/ TM leading the way. base prices + serv chrg are rediculous! I go to far less shows, and more smaller less-known shows now. and for the above poster paying $566 for pair, at that point I say forget it, and take the money and buy a nice surround amp, and get the DVD. RE: what show art thou going to? - mikoyan29 - 05-10-2010 04:50 PM I really wanted to go see this show but not at $200 per ticket plus the "convenience charge". Convenient for whom I wonder? Given the economy in this area that's just fucking insane. I seriously hope he's doing a DVD. RE: what show art thou going to? - Jeff 2012 - 05-13-2010 08:59 PM Got my tickets in the mail today for the GM place show on December 10th , damn , that means I got to look up some relatives . RE: what show art thou going to? - BecDudek - 05-14-2010 12:04 AM I'm going to the Tampa show! flying all the way from Perth, Aus, got VIP tickets, costing me about $5000 all up but it's gonna be soooo worth it, gonna see if i can go to a few other shows while im in the US. RE: what show art thou going to? - spinstergirl - 05-14-2010 04:13 PM For $ 5000 I would want to sit on his lap!! RE: what show art thou going to? - Libbywaters74D - 05-15-2010 12:54 PM $5000 and I would make him take me to the SOHO's. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 05-15-2010 03:01 PM $5000?!?!?!?!?!?!? That's insane. If you have that kind of money to throw around, you're luckier than most but geez......that's crazy. I wouldn't travel outside the state I live in to see a concert, much less the continent. RE: what show art thou going to? - Floydy - 05-17-2010 05:02 AM Unless Roger drags the show all the way down here to Perth W.A then I'm afraid I won't be goinig. I hold out some hope because he came here Febuary 07 and I saw him then but with the scale of the show it is highly unlikely RE: what show art thou going to? - Some Other Jackass - 05-17-2010 05:24 AM I bought two seats for around $130 total including fees. Seats are front row of the arena balcony, directly opposite stage front. I called one of my oldest friends almost a month ago to see if he wanted to go. Tickets went on sale last Monday and I still had not heard from him so I only got two gambling that I would go with someone else. He called just yesterday and I am glad he wants to go. Our concert is in late October so I am going to avoid all Roger Waters topics until then so I can go into the concert with an open mind and without suggestions of what to expect. You'll understand. RE: what show art thou going to? - BecDudek - 05-17-2010 09:14 PM I would only pay that much to see Roger Waters, no one else, and im a full time student and working full time as well to pay for it, so im not that lucky, im just working hard. RE: what show art thou going to? - Jeff 2012 - 05-18-2010 05:11 PM For all of those shocked by the price , what did you expect ? It's the Wall , the project that they all lost money on the first time (except Rick who was a contract player at the time ) . As it is , I don't see Roger ereally raking it in , after all it is a arena tour , so he ain't playing any of the really big venues . Me , I paid $270 a ticket and will shell out another $700 for airfare as well as $120 a night for hotel , but you know what , it is worth it to me . However , if he announces a show in Winnipeg later in the next couple of months , I may be kicking myself . RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 05-18-2010 05:28 PM It doesn't matter to me what he's playing -- I think the prices are too high. The fact it's The Wall doesn't mean much to me. He could be touring for Atom Heart Mother and I'd think the ticket prices were outrageous. As it is, I think ticket prices across the board are too high, and that goes for everyone. RE: what show art thou going to? - emonerd826 - 05-29-2010 07:00 PM Im not sure if he's just playing the wall or he'll be playing other material too. If its just the wall, 100 dollar tickets are outrageous. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 05-29-2010 08:09 PM He's just playing The Wall. RE: what show art thou going to? - Libbywaters74D - 05-30-2010 09:25 AM The Wall was one of the best albums Pink Floyd put out. I would pay anything to see Roger tour with The Wall. It is not just The Wall. RE: what show art thou going to? - codayo61 - 05-30-2010 05:04 PM Believe me when I tell you. IT IS JUST THE WALL. He only played the wall in 1980 and I doubt he'll play more at 67... RE: what show art thou going to? - Libbywaters74D - 05-30-2010 05:15 PM and 1990 when the wall went down in Germany Its not just The Wall to me. It is one of Pink Floyd's best albums. Its is not just The Wall and I will say that until my fingures bleed. This is an album I keep very close to my heart. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 05-30-2010 05:29 PM I think you're misunderstanding what he's saying. When we're telling you "Roger's only playing The Wall" that means the only material he'll be playing is The Wall. No one is making any dismissive comments about the content of the album. RE: what show art thou going to? - Libbywaters74D - 05-30-2010 05:41 PM oh I get now. RE: what show art thou going to? - iain mchenry - 06-05-2010 12:25 PM I now have tickets for the O2, London for the 17th May next year. I'll see him in CA in December and the Uk next year, Cant wait! The band is just fantastic that is really what I think" RE: what show art thou going to? - Bigkev - 07-30-2010 06:41 AM Hey guys, as above I think we need to get some kind of 'bring Roger to Australia' movement together, I was but 15 or 16 when his DSOTM tour rolled into town and was quite frankly into a, to me, lesser form of music (thought I still owned and appreciated various Floyd albums - who in their right mind wouldn't!?). I'll start up a Facebook page if I have to! I want to see him so bad! RE: what show art thou going to? - Floydy - 07-30-2010 10:12 PM I'll sign up Bigkev
RE: what show art thou going to? - emonerd826 - 08-04-2010 08:16 PM At this point, none Too damn expensive. RE: what show art thou going to? - floydcrazy - 08-19-2010 06:17 PM I am going to the show in Phoenix, Arizona on November 27th. So excited for this! I am not sure exactly where I am sitting but I'm pretty sure it's toward the back of the arena. Oh well, just being in the arena will be good enough for me. RE: what show art thou going to? - danty - 08-20-2010 09:32 AM I'll be at the 3 first night NY/NJ shows so far. I got picked for a 6th row pair at Uniondale from the RW.com premium lottery sale but I can't use them since I'm taking my wife and kids to that show so those have to be sold somehow. I'm going solo at MSG way back in Section 96 but I don't mind since I'll have a dead center view of the show. Then I have an 8th row pair for IZOD which I might be taking my wife to, if she's agreeable. I ended up with extras for the 3 shows since friends all came out of the woodwork when I told them of the tour, wanting to go... and when I laid out the $$$, they all bailed. Last time I'll ever do that.... Jeff RE: what show art thou going to? - DrKole - 08-24-2010 03:05 PM I am also going to the show in Phoenix, Arizona on November 27th. RE: what show art thou going to? - silverpot - 08-25-2010 09:23 AM I've managed to get tickets for Stockholm 4th of May. I wasn't going to go, but I succumbed to the pressure from others. ![]() The tickets weren't as expensive as I feared, 70 Euros. RE: what show art thou going to? - emonerd826 - 09-19-2010 09:09 AM After seeing video of the concert on YouTube, I'm glad I'm not paying $100+ to go see it. RE: what show art thou going to? - joanieb83 - 09-20-2010 12:56 PM I have never seen Pink Floyd in person but I have the feeling I would enjoy it. If you have already seen them, there's always the fact that they won't be as good as the first or second time especially years later. I love watching their old live stuff http://toobbox.com/playlist/pink-floyd--4812 RE: what show art thou going to? - Dyolf - 09-24-2010 04:18 AM Not been here for a while, just dropping in to say I'll be seeing Roger in Manchester next May! Though The Wall is pretty much the only thing I'd see Roger do solo. I have a feeling Dave will be at whichever show he films, he's bound to film at least one. RE: what show art thou going to? - spinstergirl - 09-24-2010 06:30 PM I have tickets for 10/12. Today the NY clasic rock radio station Is advertising a contest for tickets to the 3rd MSQ show on 11/6. The lead in says"Roger Water is back and playing a very special show at MSQ". Another station is hinting a surprise guest may show up. Gee I wonder who that could be? Guess I have to get more tickets. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 09-24-2010 07:38 PM I doubt Roger would let news of what show David is doing leak. I mean, the whole point of this is to leave the audience each night totally unaware of whether or not he's doing the show until the "there is no pain" part of the song begins and the person at the top of the wall is spotlighted. If it's leaked or anything like that, the element of surprise is totally ruined. You want that moment when the whole place just loses their collective sh*t for the rest of the song. RE: what show art thou going to? - W1P - 09-25-2010 07:32 AM At least December 5 at Staples Center, Los Angeles RE: what show art thou going to? - Quincy - 10-14-2010 03:59 PM I'm a little bit surprised that there has not been more talk about the tour on this forum... I went to MSG 10.5 and Nassau 10.13. AWESOME shows, not that I didn't enjoy this DSOTM tour, but this was WAY better. RE: what show art thou going to? - emonerd826 - 10-15-2010 06:16 PM To me, the anti-war message that Roger is trying to get out of The Wall sounds really forced. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 11-05-2010 08:15 AM I'm wondering when David is going to be making his triumphant appearance. Roger said it was going to be one of the Stateside shows. If he didn't do any of the shows in the New York/New Jersey area, he might be going to one of the shows in Los Angeles, which is where the original Wall concerts started -- that makes the most sense to me, now that I think about it. I would almost guarantee that David is doing one of the shows in Los Angeles. It' s really out of the way unless he'll be here for some other reason any way. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 11-05-2010 10:54 AM I'm not sure why, myself. It would make more sense geographically for David to do one of the many shows in the UK or even somewhere else in Europe, but apparently that's what Roger said was going on. Of all his remaining shows on the US leg of the tour, LA/Oakland is the only major city or area left, since New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia didn't happen. I doubt that David would do a show in Atlanta or Miami, frankly. I doubt David would re-neg on doing a concert, especially after it's been out in the public realm as long as it has. RE: what show art thou going to? - spinstergirl - 11-07-2010 06:37 PM Went to my second show last night, this one was the added show at Madison Square Garden. A lot of speculation as to weather Gilmour was going to show up. Well I've laid out $1300+ for 5 tickets since Oct. and still NO DAVID. Unless I had a positive date, I'm done. RE: what show art thou going to? - Jeff 2012 - 11-12-2010 01:50 PM Looks like I get to go , back is healed enough from August and even though it will probably be a painful 3 hours in the air , I am going to get to see the show in Vancouver on Dec. 10 , maybe David will show up . RE: what show art thou going to? - spinstergirl - 11-16-2010 06:55 PM Good Luck. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 11-17-2010 04:44 PM It would appear that perhaps Classic Rock Magazine was in error when they said that Roger stated David would do one of the shows in the US. Rumors are he will be making an appearance at one of Roger's shows at the O2 in London in May, which frankly would make more sense. His kids are still in school right now, and in May, they should either be out or just about done for the year, and you know his family will want to be at a gig like that. RE: what show art thou going to? - floydcrazy - 11-29-2010 01:10 AM I went to the show at US Airways Center last night (Nov. 27th). Of course it was an amazing show. Tears welled up in my eyes the minute In the Flesh? started and I was very shaken up. And then during the Comfortable Numb solo I teared up as well. I like to think that I am tough but honestly the music is so important to me that it just moved me. So amazing. Wish I could go to another. Fantastic experience nonetheless and I was very fortunate to go. RE: what show art thou going to? - Pink_Layne - 12-11-2010 09:12 AM well, since there's no Belgrade :( I'll have to go to Zagreb or Budapest.. or both RE: what show art thou going to? - Jeff 2012 - 12-11-2010 07:42 PM The Chinese have a curse that goes along the lines of " May you live in interesting times " and it appears that I am . I had to pass on the concert in Vancouver on Friday night . More important stuff was going on and no matter who or what was playing , it is still only a concert . Wish there was some way I could have been in both places at the same time , but I look on the bright side , at least I didn't have to face that three hour layover in the Edmonton airport . RE: what show art thou going to? - iain mchenry - 12-19-2010 04:30 PM The wife and I flew into LAX from London on the 10th of December in time for Rogers concert at Anaheim on the 13th. It was my first concert I have attended in the USA. It was also my first time seeing Roger "in the flesh!" Had excellent seats sitting about 20 rows back on the floor from the front. Without spoiling anything the concert was absolutely amazing, worth every penny. I didnt find one dissapointment in the concert whatsoever. We now have to wait untill 17th May next year to see him (...and maybe David G!!) again. I saw Pink Floyd play in 1994 during the Pulse tour and now having seen Roger play I almost feel I have come full circle. That circle will be more complete of course, if I ever see Rog, Dave and Nick on stage together!!!! Iain RE: what show art thou going to? - DrKole - 12-20-2010 12:33 PM I went to the One Last Month on the 27th in Phoenix, AZ RE: what show art thou going to? - Arno Sluismans - 12-20-2010 02:41 PM I'm still convinced that David will play in Belgium. Because that's the show I'll be seeing, and I know David would gladly do this favour to me. RE: what show art thou going to? - Joe - 12-20-2010 02:55 PM Dream on, Arno. Dream on. David will play in Cairo, because that's where I live. And even though Roger isn't coming over, this is going to happen. RE: what show art thou going to? - DrKole - 12-20-2010 03:29 PM David is obviously going to Travel back in time, and go to the one in Phoenix, Arizona cause he feels like time traveling... RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 12-20-2010 05:22 PM David is playing in my bedroom right now, and he asked me to tell all of you to stuff it. BTW, he makes great hot chocolate. He doesn't skimp on the marshmallows either, although I wouldn't expect him to. RE: what show art thou going to? - cevor - 12-20-2010 05:27 PM Then she woke up....lol RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 12-20-2010 05:33 PM Hey. Leave me to my delusions.
RE: what show art thou going to? - DrKole - 12-20-2010 08:52 PM Actually, David is sky diving right now, AND IM WITH HIM!!! For an old dude he is fit, well better put my computer away, David is playing Guitar now, WHILE HE IS SKY DIVING... RE: what show art thou going to? - Floydy - 12-20-2010 10:09 PM Davids' playing at my work right now. He then will be playing at my Xmas party on Saturday. He will then hang around at my place until November to play for my birthday and then wait at my place until Xmas 2011 to play guitar at my Xmas doo. RE: what show art thou going to? - Joe - 12-21-2010 01:55 AM Haha! RE: what show art thou going to? - Arno Sluismans - 12-21-2010 02:17 AM I'll be giving guitar lessons next year, by the way. David will be one of the students; he's already payed me 'n' everything. RE: what show art thou going to? - Joe - 12-21-2010 04:20 AM That sounded dirty. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 12-21-2010 10:24 AM How so? "Don't let me down" is just another way of saying "don't disappoint me". I know what you were thinking of, but that's not what he said.
RE: what show art thou going to? - Arno Sluismans - 12-21-2010 10:56 AM You guys are a bunch of perverts. I'm David's guitar teacher; my relationship with him is strictly professional. Also, predictable remarks about sexual orientations aside: Lady Floydian would murder me if it wasn't. RE: what show art thou going to? - Joe - 12-21-2010 11:46 AM HE'S OLD! What the hell? RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 12-21-2010 11:59 AM Not that I think this is an appropriate discussion to be having on this part of the board, but I don't think he's old at all. He's 64, not 104. I'm not an ageist and speaking purely as a heterosexual female, I find him attractive. Always have, and I probably always will. It's not why I got into Pink Floyd, since when I first started listening to their music, I don't think I knew all their names much less what any of them looked like, but I consider his pleasing appearance to be a bonus to his talent, intelligence, personality and compassionate spirit. Besides, we're all joking around. David is a very happily married man and there are a few lines I will never cross, that being one of them. If he were single on the other hand.....well.......that's another thread.
RE: what show art thou going to? - Joe - 12-21-2010 12:11 PM ![]() But, yeah, really. I wish Roger would come to Egypt. RE: what show art thou going to? - Arno Sluismans - 12-21-2010 12:30 PM Hahaha, yeah right. Give any person such as Lady Floydian the opportunity to do whatever they want with their idol, and see which of their moral boundaries they won't break. Here's a hint: you won't need to bring pen and paper in order to memorize it all. Now, now......while I fully admit to partaking in lustful gazing upon Mr. Gilmour's countenance and such, I absolutely would not pursue anything with a married man, even if that married man is an idol of mine. To say any different would be a slight upon my character and while I am many things, a whore is not one of them. Also, I am first and foremost a fan of the MUSIC. Everything else is just gravy. RE: what show art thou going to? - Arno Sluismans - 12-21-2010 12:58 PM I think it's your turn to enable your humour detection device again...
RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 12-21-2010 01:06 PM There are some things I take seriously and don't care for other people joking about. RE: what show art thou going to? - Joe - 12-21-2010 01:28 PM Ahum...so, what show are thou going to? RE: what show art thou going to? - Arno Sluismans - 12-21-2010 01:34 PM In other words, you know I'm just kidding, but choose to see it as a serious remark, which allows you to be upset about it? Right. I'm sorry for talking to you. RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 12-21-2010 01:42 PM (12-21-2010 01:34 PM)Arno Sluismans Wrote: In other words, you know I'm just kidding, but choose to see it as a serious remark, which allows you to be upset about it? No, not quite. I didn't think you were kidding. Hence why my initial response to you was framed and phrased the way it was. Then you said you were joking. My response to that basically was, I didn't think it was funny and don't like people joking around with me in that manner. I love a good joke and have a sense of humor about myself, but when people say things like that, whether seriously or in jest, I don't like it and will say something. Why you then chose to get huffy about that I don't know. RE: what show art thou going to? - Floydy - 12-21-2010 07:12 PM I meant nothing sexual in my comment... did I? RE: what show art thou going to? - Lady Floydian - 12-21-2010 07:23 PM No, you weren't.
RE: what show art thou going to? - Floydy - 12-21-2010 09:20 PM Phew! RE: what show art thou going to? - DrKole - 12-28-2010 09:35 PM No way hose.a (hose.b was home sick today) RE: what show art thou going to? - Kimbers Sheep - 12-29-2010 10:20 PM Stay on topic please.
