Which of the two biggest Floyd albums, "The Wall" and "Dark Side Of The Moon" is your favorite?.....

Considering I have the movie, album, and live album of "The Wall", this is my choice. hammers

Dark Side of the Moon. The Wall isn't even in my top five, personally. But, to be honest, I'd take Piper, Meddle, or WYWH over Dark Side as well.

You should have made this a poll...

Anyway, I like DSOTM better - it's my favourite Floyd album, with AHM as a close second.

Dark Side of the Moon. Although the Wall has the concept, it can never cvompare to the epic feeling of emotion in the music of Dark Side of the Moon.

Dark Side. My second favourite Floyd album, with Wall in third. I'll give my respect to anyone who guesses what my first is.

I love the wall but im going to choose DSOTM for this bc while the wall was a floyd album i consider it to be more of a roger waters solo album

- The Revelator - 05-26-2006 04:23 PM

dark side of the moon is way better

- Three Different Ones - 05-26-2006 05:14 PM

the wall, no contest.

To me dark side isn't anything special. The wall is easily a better albim lyricaly, musically, and in every way possible.

The wall, no doubts

The Wall Disc 2...thats better than Dark Side....dont' get me wrong I love Dark Side....just that compared to The Wall, its very bland....

I can't decide between the Final Cut or the Division Bell!! What does everyone else think? I'll go with the Final Cut!! I can't see Sir Frankie Crisp liking the Division Bell!!

The Division Bell.

DSOTM, easily. It's just got that flow and that dynamic that puts it in it's own class. I hold WYWH in the same esteem. I love The Wall too, naturally.....but it's middle of the pack for me, in terms of Floyd releases.

Favorite: Animals(always)
Next Favorite: Meddle(for right now)

The Dark Side of the Moon looms over the Wall for me, but neither are my favourite.

Actually, I don't really have a favourite Floyd album...

I'd put Dark Side on top. But that's not a knock on The Wall - I like it very much as well.

I don't think I do either; I like a healthy mix of music and albums. I'm glad that Pink Floyd's got enough great albums that people can line them up and try proving which one's better. I'm sure there are artists who were never even good enough to boast any albums at all.

my favorite album is the wall hands down its brillant. but i can not knock darkside of the moon down either that is great.

Don't get me wrong, but DSTOM is one of my favorite Floyd albums. My favorite Gilmour guitar solo is on this album("Time"), and I have been listening to it since the age of seven(I believe I was a year old at the time of release).
I prefer "The Wall" more because of the multiple stories behind it( Pink, The Wall, Mother, School, etc.). When they(PF) preformed "Comfortably Numb" at Live 8, it blew me out of the water!!!!

'Time' is my favorite guitar solo from any song by anyone. And you weren't blown out of just any water, but Roger Waters. :;):

the wall is my least favorite... so dark side....

- Domine - 06-13-2006 12:55 PM

Definitley Dark Side of the Moon. This is the album that got me hooked on the Floyd, and while The Wall is a materpiece, DSOTM transcends vinyl (or disc) and through the simple (yet meaningful) lyrics, guitar solos, layers of organ and keyboard, and well-delivered vocals, it makes for an easier listen than The Wall. And because the lyrics are more general, more people could identify with the themes.

Plus, Time is absolute mayhem!
