Anyways, this is THE video game thread.

I just got Call Of Duty 3 and Pimp My Ride for Christmas, on my ps2 of course . Call Of Duty 3 is great but Pimp My Ride is too rushed, there isn't enough time for pimpin' yo.

My parents got it because I like the show

On another note, I tried to get a Wii for weeks, after having no success I gave up, and just purchased Final Fantasy XII. If only I had the time to play it...

Currently playing 'Okami' for PS2, and I took a chance and ordered Tekken 5, which just arrived. I've never played a Tekken game before, but love Soul Calibur....so it should be a good experience. It's a little hard on the eyes going back to the PS2 after getting spoiled by next gen gaming, but you do get used to it.

Yeah.....I like it a lot. The dynamic of needing to rely on cover effectively is a great feature. You can't really "run and gun" in this game too much, if you want to live. Same with 'Gears'....

Well, 'The Windwaker' gets a lot of flak, somewhat unfairly. It had the misfortune of being the follow up game to 'Ocarina', and a bad decision was made to use those kiddy-looking cell-shaded graphics.....and these really threw everyone for a loop! It takes a bit to get used to the visual style of the game. As to the gameplay, it wasn't bad at all. The controls were nice and tight, and the game was polished. Some of the boat sequences were just too looooooooong, being out in open water...especially at night.

I eventually warmed to it, and enjoyed it...but it took an effort to stick with it. This newest Zelda harkens back to 'Ocarina' while still remaining fresh.....and ginormous! I don't even think I'm halfway yet, and I've been playing it for a few weeks now. One of the best games I've played in years!

And in other news, I want to buy some Xbox 1 games since I just remembered my 360 is backwards compatible. So far I'm going to get both Halo games. Anything else? I know most Xbox 1 games are dirt cheap by now.

God Of War 2! Now this is a quality game! If you liked the first, you'll love this! Boss battles are just as, if not more intense, and there's more of them too.

I resisted jumping on the Sony bandwagon for years, but now that I have, I must say...their in-house developed games are fantastic. This one really maxes out the PS2's processors, and at times I'm surprised the damn thing doesn't just blow sky high......

I saw that 2K Games is releasing a new football game pretty soon here, that'll hopefully give Madden some competition again. Don't get me wrong, Madden's lots of fun, but those old 2K games were really good, and in some ways even better than EA's franchise. Here's hoping that we get a great game that gives Madden that little push to deliver a little better.

I've got Demon Seige, but that's it. I haven't really given these games much time, including this one. Sort of like Resident Evil with Samari Warriors instead, eh?

Hey...this is really good! Took a little break from Bioshock to fire up the PS2, and put Demon Siege in. I was immediately impressed by the production....very solid! The likeness of Jean Reno is really spot on too....great voices. In some ways it has similarities to RE, with the static backgrounds and some of the controls maybe....but it really has it's own personality. I look forward to getting into this now. And yes, well, story wise anyway. It goes like thus:

Onimusha Warlords
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny (my favorite)
Onimusha 3: Demon Seige
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams

And then they came out with Onimusha: Blade Warriors after Onimusha 2 came out. It's a fighting game.

I tire of OoT lovers....there ARE other games out there, y'know.

whong, I'll give ya a tip on Onimusha 3. Since I can't recieve PMs, I'll just tell ya.

When you get to play as Michelle, make sure that Ako has the Yellow Vest equipped and when you are at Boulonge Zoo, you'll see the mutated gorillas, use the Assualt Rifle to shoot them from afar, that way, you'll recieve tons of souls as you shoot. What I do is two attacks and then suck up the souls. Everytime you see one (that hasn't noticed you yet) do that and when you go back to Samanosuke, you'll have tons of souls to upgrade!

Yeah, Genma Onimusha. It's extremely hard and I don't recommend playing it until you play the original on the PS2 first. I'm not even joking, Genma Onimusha will give you nightmares with it's extreme difficulty.

Not the controller or anything. The reason why is because it has only one difficulty, and that's Extreme. Monsters have double health, have stronger attacks, don't release that many souls, and at one point, you'll encounter this doll and it will happen no matter what, you can't avoid it. Once you get to this doll, it will follow you throughout the rest of the game, it's attacks are very strong and the worst part?

YOU CAN'T KILL IT.

That's one of the reasons. Even if you are in a safe area where they are no demons, stick around long enough and she'll come after ya. She won't follow you in everyroom but if you stick around long enough, she will. Plus, I think the final boss is three times as hard as he was in the original.

His close range attacks can pack a huge wallop and seeing as to how he's the only character with a Magnum, he's top...and Ada? Hunk is better than her! And yes.....those games are brutal..but fun! I like to play as Krauser and shoot 'em in the head and watch 'em fall. :blues:

The best bet is to get him by a barrel, but he doesn't always cooperate....and the way he can leap all the way to the top of a ladder is just plain cheap!

Yeah....Krauser is fun too...that crossbow of his might be the best weapon yet! It's a great weapon against that blind thing with the knives.....

Can't wait for RE 5 next year. It looks like it's an evolution on RE 4, and set in Africa this time. Should be good, as they're taking their time on the game.....

Anyway...the game is outstanding, as expected. The campaign is maybe a bit of a letdown, but multiplayer is totally off the hook! Having lots of fun with this one!

Ah! The forgotten Panzer Dragoon series. They were once powerful...but as I said, they are now forgotten. I never had a Saturn...but I'm planning on getting one. I'm also planning on getting Guardian Heroes, one of the Saturn's absolute best games. I might also get Clockwork Knight. It seemed like a good fun platformer.

I'm not a big fan of platformers...I suck at them...I could never get far on Rayman. >_<

Also, I wouldn't call it a platformer. More like a action/adventure game. One of my favorite games that I don't own. I love it so much.

It's a great game.....and it'll leave you ROTFLYAO at times. Story line is brilliant! The first Oddworld on XBox was 'Munch's Oddysee', which moreless sucked, but it was a launch title. 'Stranger' was a twisted work of genius though. I couldn't put the game down.

It's freaking me out.....I have no idea where this game came from. There's no Blockbuster sticker on it.......maybe I died and went to some form of heaven......all of a sudden, I've got videogames popping up out of nowhere! I can think of worse things!

Any way....that's going to have to wait until I get through with this Orange Box business and Demon Siege......I may have to quit my new job in order to fit all this in.....

Yeah...against the Cave Troll (El Gigante), the wolf appears if you start getting in trouble, and causes just enough of a distraction to help you out, if you're having trouble. Actually, it was a pretty cool moment in the game, when he suddenly appears and comes to your aid, for helping him earlier. What do you mean you shot him??? I'm calling PETA!

I heard that if you save the game, wait for a week, and reload it, the End dies of old age. Is this true? If so, then Kojima certainly has an imagination. I mean, the way to defeat Psycho Mantis in the original by switching controller ports is just insane. I LOVE IT.

I bought MGS2 and MGS3 before the "Substance" versions came out... so I have the standard versions of both, I'll try and hold out for MGS4 Substance though...

I'd wait till closer to the release. Games as big as MGS4 tend to sell like hotcakes on the release date, but very few people have the intelligence to pre-order.

I'm not quite done yet......almost. And no....I didn't cheat! Well.....maybe a little bit on some of the puzzles.

Yeah....I was going to order the other three off Amazon, and play them in sequence. That newest one isn't part of the story line, I take it......is it as good as the third one? Also....I bet I do okay with the one on XBox....I'm curious about the challenge, so I'm wondering if that's the version of that game I should go with. Is there extra content?

I've got Devil May Cry 3(and the first one too). None of the others. I must say, I've been curious about the Castlevania games, but didn't really know what to get, or where to begin. I know 'Symphony Of The Night' seems to keep on with it's popularity....a buddy of mine swears it's the Holy Grail of video-gaming.

I didn't plan on buying it, I wasn't in any way impressed by the demo at all, looks aweful, even the storyline is idiotic, but still, it's pretty sick.

You got that PS3 in very quick order, I noticed....and it's obviously everything you'd hoped for. How's the BluRay player on it....have you given it a shot yet? Also...got your info about the power supply issues here in the States....although that's the first I've heard of this....
