- viewaskew - 03-08-2005 02:29 PM hey i was wondering what songs has he singed on if any? and also does roger waters sing on dark side of the moon? - Mrsocko54 - 03-08-2005 03:13 PM I know Rick Wright sang "Remember A Day" and "See-Saw" off of Saucerful of Secrets. Other than that, Im not too sure - InTheFlesh2 - 03-08-2005 05:39 PM Summer '68. Edited By InTheFlesh2 on 1110332435 - carefulwiththataxeEugene - 03-08-2005 07:01 PM He sings: Remember a Day See-Saw Crying Song (with Dave) Astronomy Domine (with Dave) (Ummagumma, that is) Summer '68 Mudmen (with Dave) Stay Echoes (with Dave) Time (with Dave) Us and Them (with Dave) Sorrow (with Dave) Those are the ones I can think of now. - AmazingPudding - 03-08-2005 08:44 PM wearing the inside out - quicksilver - 03-09-2005 07:13 AM Don't forget "Paintbox" - Steve Hill - 03-09-2005 11:51 AM Roger does sing on Dark Side Of The Moon. Brain Damage and Eclipse. - Steve Hill - 03-09-2005 11:52 AM Forgot to say that Rick sings Goodbye Blue Sky with Roger on The Wall. This topic reminds me of another recent topic now though. ??? - Love In Spite Of Traffic - 03-09-2005 12:46 PM Rick sings on Comfortably Numb with Dave. And Roger Only sings on Brain Damage/Eclipse (the high-point of the album imo :) ) on Dark Side. - quicksilver - 03-09-2005 12:51 PM Steve Hill Wrote:Forgot to say that Rick sings Goodbye Blue Sky with Roger on The Wall.Actually David does the vocals on that song. - TheDark&CrazyPiperDiamond - 03-09-2005 03:11 PM Love In Spite Of Traffic Wrote:Rick sings on Comfortably Numb with Dave. I believe Rick sings the high parts with David in the background, I might be wrong though. :)Love In Spite Of Traffic Wrote:Rick sings on Comfortably Numb with Dave. And oh, almost forgot Paintbox. I think he has the best voice of the band Besides Dave. Very powerful voice actually...just listen to Time and burning bridges...Dave and Rick's vocals are amazing. Edited By Pink Prism on 1110492930 - viewaskew - 03-10-2005 03:20 PM thanks guys. :music: - quicksilver - 03-11-2005 08:30 AM It would be so nice - Gilmour - 06-18-2005 06:05 AM which bit of dogs does he sing? - Philintheflesh - 06-18-2005 07:48 AM Near the beginning of "Dogs". There`s a doubling-up in the background of the last line of the second verse..."You`ll get the chance to put the knife in" It`s faint, but it`s there. - AndersonCouncill - 06-18-2005 06:43 PM I can't believe anyone thinks Rick's voice is better than Roger's. I think Roger has one of the best rocker voices ever! - mabewa - 07-12-2005 12:07 AM AndersonCouncill Wrote:I can't believe anyone thinks Rick's voice is better than Roger's. I think Roger has one of the best rocker voices ever!I would add "Breathe" to the list... Although Dave's voice is louder, it seems more like a duet than lead-vocal/harmony. For "Us and Them," he sings with Dave on the chorus, right? I never noticed Rick's voice on "Dogs" at all... will have to go back and listen! He barely sings on "Momentary Lapse" at all, but his voice is pretty audible on harmony on a few lines of "Learning to Fly." You can also hear him sing harmony with Roger on "Shine on." For example, Roger sings "Remember when you were young," and then Rick harmonizes on "You shone like the sun." I can't hear Rick's voice on the Wall myself, but he sings pretty audibly on the live versions of Comfortably Numb. - SOYCD123 - 07-12-2005 08:20 AM Yes he sings very well - Space Cadet - 07-12-2005 10:28 AM Rick has one of the most taking, lyrical voices in all the world. I really do love it when he sings. - atmospherium - 07-12-2005 06:05 PM All three of the boys had (and still have) very distinctive voices. I liked it best when they traded lead vocals in a song: Rick & Syd on Matilda Mother, Roger, Dave & Rick on Let There Be More Light, Dave & Rick on Time, Dave & Roger on Mother, etc. It made it sound more like a band, all working together, than a leader with silent backing musicians (most of Final Cut). I've always thought Rick had the most British voice of them all. Very crisp and clipped. - Space Cadet - 07-12-2005 08:10 PM atmospherium Wrote:All three of the boys had (and still have) very distinctive voices.AHEM! Aren't we forgetting someone? - atmospherium - 07-12-2005 08:44 PM Ahem...er, I guess I was thinking post-Mr Barret. I mean, this thread is about Rick Wright, right? You aren't refering to Mr Mason, are you? What did he ever do except express his desire to cut me into little pieces? Giving the matter some thought, between Syd on Piper and Dave on Saucer, I don't think any other band has topped the amount of "r" trilling and rolling that goes on. I may be wrong. Being American, I hardly speak English at all. - Archymethez - 07-12-2005 11:24 PM atmospherium Wrote:I've always thought Rick had the most British voice of them all. Very crisp and clipped.totally agreed. - mabewa - 07-13-2005 03:43 AM Yes, Rick has the most British voice... except Syd, of course. I'm glad that there are other people besides me who really like Rick's voice! A question: on the live version of "Breath" that they played at Live 8, was Rick singing harmony? He usually sings the high parts on Breathe, and it sounded like him, but I couldn't even see him, so I couldn't tell! What do you all think? - sheehan83420 - 07-13-2005 07:21 PM mabewa Wrote:A question: on the live version of "Breath" that they played at Live 8, was Rick singing harmony? RE Live 8: No, Rick didn't sing at all. He didn't have a mic :( - mabewa - 07-14-2005 12:35 AM Yeah, I noticed that at least once of the guys playing keys had no mic, but it was so hard to see either key player that I thought it might be the other guy who had no mic. No mic for Rick? BOO! I always hate it when Rick isn't credited for vocals--worse yet for him to not even have a mic. I hope that he actually had one of those clip-on mics and really was singing, but I fear that you are right... - Wanna Take A Bath? - 07-14-2005 06:21 PM He sings backup on see emily play as well - mabewa - 07-16-2005 06:07 PM ...actually, if you are going to talk about the Barret era, Rick seems to sing backup on EVERYTHING (except for the stuff he sings lead on!). I mean, Barret and Wright's harmonies, such a great part of the early Floyd. - King Bee - 08-02-2005 03:42 PM Cant Forget IMO the best song Ricks ever sung It Would Be So Nice (rare song) download it NOW!!!
- Scream Thy Last Scream - 08-03-2005 09:56 AM ricks voice actually resembled syds at the time. its a wonder to see the paintbox video and see rick sing it. it looks cool. and i agree with king bee, it would be so nice is a brilliant song. i was going to put that on my acoustic compilation, but sadly (or gladly) its a full band effort that is so sixties - Radio Slaver - 08-03-2005 04:56 PM I do enjoy that mans voice, he should have sung more often than he did. - Nunca - 08-03-2005 06:36 PM WOuld someone upload "It would be so nice" please? I love it when Rick gets a chance to sing too, its like your getting a rare treat.... :D "Remember a Day" and "See Saw" are some of Pink Floyds best work. I LOVE See Saw, its really got some harmony in it. - King Bee - 08-03-2005 06:48 PM Nunca Wrote:WOuld someone upload "It would be so nice" please?i will either today or tomr. just for you :D - Nunca - 08-03-2005 06:54 PM King Bee Wrote:thank you so much.... :)Nunca Wrote:WOuld someone upload "It would be so nice" please?i will either today or tomr. just for you :D I suggest you use http://www.megaupload.com - AndersonCouncill - 08-05-2005 07:29 PM Its great when Rick sings because his voice is so powerful. Well Roger's is damn cool and Dave's is smooth and very pronounced Rick's voice is just biting. - Scream Thy Last Scream - 08-06-2005 06:16 AM Nunca Wrote:WOuld someone upload "It would be so nice" please?here you go, nunca. king bee must be on hols. :D it would be so nice - fake stereo http://s54.yousendit.com/d.php?id=7TJFS4V19CG815JNP7L2MXQ8W - Nunca - 08-06-2005 06:37 PM Scream Thy Last Scream Wrote:Thanks "Scream thy last", but actually King Bee uploaded it for me in the collectors corner.Nunca Wrote:WOuld someone upload "It would be so nice" please?here you go, nunca. king bee must be on hols. :D http://www.pinkfloydonline.com/cgi-bin....;st=105 Thanks anyways though, I appreciate it. Its a great song, Rick really should have had more time to shine on the official albums. - mabewa - 08-06-2005 11:45 PM Speaking of the backups he did on most of the "Piper" songs, the last verse of "Bike" has some very nice Wright harmonies. - Scream Thy Last Scream - 08-07-2005 06:22 AM Nunca Wrote:no poblem pal. i didnt know he had done that. any more, give us a shout. there are a few of us there uploading stuff for people.Scream Thy Last Scream Wrote:Thanks "Scream thy last", but actually King Bee uploaded it for me in the collectors corner.Nunca Wrote:WOuld someone upload "It would be so nice" please?here you go, nunca. king bee must be on hols. :D - pinkfloydfan1 - 08-07-2005 06:17 PM echoes time comfortably numb sorrow - it dont now for sure but it sounds like him im to fooked to right anymore |
