Nick REALLY deserves more repsect!

What do you like best about him?

- Jfloydian - 03-27-2005 05:49 PM

His drumming is very precise, and practically perfect.

Nice, well that's a start.

Fine I'll kick this place up...

Nick Mason: An unbelivable drummer, PRECISE PERFICT HITS practically everytime, it is very subtle, and suites the music well, and even his compositions on UmmaGumma are pretty dam good. He rocks!!!!!!!! rocker

Nick Mason is great, but Pink Floyd didn't make really music that you needed to have alot of drum in it like unlike most Rock bands drums are a big part. Nick Mason was a perfect fit because I think any other drummer would have changed the way they sounded.

Outta sight, yeah. Nick is a very good drummer and does deserve more respect. He is very accurate and doesn't need to play incredibly fast like Neil Peart of Rush. I play the drums and it's not really that hard to follow Nick's beats. For me, this is just my opinion, I think Nick got gradually worse as he went on. On TPATGOD and ASOS, he was great. Actually, he was good on every Floyd album until The Wall. My god, could you get any more simpler than that? I could probably figure out every song from The Wall on drums in about a day. I'm not bragging but the drumming is so simple.

You could say the same about Rick and Roger (atleast on Bass)... they got worse on every album after PATGOD but Dave's been quite the opposite...

If I was a woman, I'd marry Nick before he could say "moist".

- pinkfl0ydth3wall - 01-07-2006 07:40 AM

Nick was a good drummer but in alot of bands even if you are a good drummer you arent as looked upon as like the guitarist or lead singer....

ROFL

I like Nick, but I think he used most of his drumming skill on More.

Comon besides being an awesome drummer, he always had a great smile! His moustache was out of this world!

I just noticed today that the drums at the end of Happiest Days right before ABITW starts are REALLy cool. I guess I didn't notice this before cuz I haven't really listened to the song in a while. But they've been playing it on the radio lately. Maybe cuz Dave's coming. Of course I missed getting tickets. Now I'm gonna have to spend a fortune on ebay again. He's doing his first show here. I can't miss it. Sorry for digressing about Nick. And personally, I think he looks MUCH better without that handlebar, spinal tap mustache.

Yep, he's definitely one of my favorites. My whole life, I've totally underrated and overlooked all drummers until I started playing the drums a little bit. I love how during their more expiremental-jam-type songs his symbol hits (well, everything really) compliments what the rest of the band is playing at the moment.

I love some fills he does in the Pompeii version of echoes.
Heart and soul of the floyd on periods that others had their egos above the band hammers
