RE: PFX Winter Tour 2009
Well were resting up in Las Vegas on a well deserved 2 day rest...having played 11 out of the last 12 days!! Pass the throat losenges please!

Here's some new unedited reviews from recent days - some with even negative things said here and there. Curiosity will surely get the best of you and you will be compelled to read these certainly....laughs!!

RE: University Park, IL Show
Last nights concert in my opinion was fantastic. Gus asked us to review so thats my impression of last nights show. I really enjoy watching professionals do their thing. In this case professional musicians. I hate amateurs. You guys are the REAL DEAL. Great work all around including light show and everything else technical plus sound. Great. The last time I saw Pink Floyd at Soldier Field I was blazed by way of a couple doses of purple microdot. The songs are etched in my head forever. Got every album. Last night Jesse told the audience ''You Guys Rock'', well, I say you ''You Guys Rock''. Totally professional,Thanks, see ya next time.

RE: Sioux Falls, SD
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the show!!! Totally rocked! Thank you SO much for playing Wish You Were Here - it is my favorite song! Also thanks for playing Learning to Fly - another fave of mine. We saw you a year and half ago in Brookings, SD and we thought that show rocked - but I do believe this one in Sioux Falls was even better - if that is possible! Keep coming to South Dakota - we love you here!!!

Hello All! Was at HOB last night in Dallas for the PFX show and thought I would share my insights.
I am 46 years old, Lived 40 years in NYC and coming up on 6 years in Dallas now. (Oh My!) I have been to over 850 shows since I was 16. I was lucky enough to see Floyd for The Wall tour.(Snuck in through giant broken window @ Nassau Colisium. Great story for another time) As a true Floydian, I sided with Roger after the breakup! I have seen him 5 times since the split, (Including 1 of the 6 shows he did w/Clapton for "The Pros & Cons Tour") and "Fake Floyd" twice on the "Momentary Lapse" Tour. (Small bit of trivia on that album, It was completly recorded & then scraped and totally redone because "It wasn't Floyd enough") Don't get me wrong, I think Gilmore is a great guitarist,But true fans know the things that were said by him after "The Final Cut" was released were not cool and degrading to Roger & his family. In fact if you want to see David at his best, get a copy of Pete Townsend's video "Live at the Deep End". He truly kicks ass in that video. Another Tribute to how good David is, is the fact that a couple of the songs PFX did last night,it takes 3 to play guitar to recreate his sound with honesty.
Last night, (On Mr. G's B'day) I saw a group of musicians that payed homage to Floyd in an artistic & professional mannerr! I dont throw roses and truly feel thay have put a lot of though & planning into these shows! There was not much to complain about after the show was over. There selections on the setlist were a great mix from all time spans of the band. I think one of the most realisic items that brought me back to the day was the volume in which they presented their songs. It had a lot to do with the way they are preceived by the audience. The lighting & choreographing was excellent too. A lot of research was done to re-create a "Typical" Floyd show from the 70's. The 20 minute break in the middle added to the ambiance of an "Old School" show!
As far as individiual preformances go, Tom definetly is the Elder statesman of the group! His guitar and vocals shine, especially on the older tracks. John amazed me on how good he melded the songs together! I believe he had more to do with the transitions than anyone else on the stage and did a masterfull job! Jesse blew that sax as good as Mel Collins!(That is a true compliment, no B.S.) Gus has it going on! Trying to pull off Rogers Bass lines by himself was quite admirable! He also made a great intro of the band 1/2 way through and spoke w/ such sincerity, you cant help but love him!!
Now comes the only 2 semi-negatives I have on the show. First off, the drummer was off a bit on a few different songs.(I dont believe their regular drummer was there) Second was how hard Grahahm stressed his lyrics on some songs. I think his voice is great for the tunes selected, but the over playing & announcing with the hand gestures like we dont know tis music, is a bit much! Overall, Great show and feel anyone that has the chanse, should go see PFX. Thanks Joe M.

RE: Albuquerque Show
Yeah, they rocked Route 66! It was really awesome. Vocal harmonies were excellent. The light show was amazing -- too bad they weren't able to fly The Pig but that wasn't their fault.

Song suggestions: I thought the set list was really good... would like to hear "Another Brick in the Wall" next time (I'm sure the band is sick of playing it but the audience loves it)... and any old stuff is great because I'm not as familiar with it.

Please ask the promoters to contact Sandia Casino in Albuquerque -- the venue would be perfect for PFX! Right size, amazing setting, great stage! I hope PFX can play there some day (hopefully next year!).

Come back to the Land of Enchantment soon, PFX! You rock! (P.S. Hi, John! from Lindsey )
---------------------------------
4 more shows to go this week culminating in 2 sold out shows in Los Angeles!! It's been a heck of a ride!
Cheers all!

RE: PFX Winter Tour 2009
Every once in a while a review comes in that truly validates what we all here in "tributeland" - in my eyes anyway, elevating the perception of all "surrogate bands", not just PFX. This in from last night in Palm Desert...
-----------------------------------------
A little about me..
My first concert I went to as a kid, Was Pink Floyd, in the early 70's, Ever since then, I have always tried to "Go to the show" when they were on the west coast, Through the years I have become a true Floyd Fan,,

Last night was the first tribute band I have ever listened to. I have always been a firm beliver of, "If it ain't real,, It ain't" So tribute bands were not on my list of tunes to listen to.

Last night changed my views. I was not expecting such a show, I was "Blown" away. The sound, the atmosphere was a true "Pink Floyd Experience" From the first cords of "Learning to fly", to the last drum beat of "Run like Hell" I closed my eyes and years of Pink Floyd shows ran through my brain. It was like , Gilmore, Wright, Mason, and Waters were standing on the stage last night, giving it all they had, To please the masses gathered at there feet!

Your sound, Your showmanship, Your performance, was true to form. I admire your selection of older PF tunes. The response from the crowd also showed the perfect "Pink Floyd Experience"

I will continue to "Go to the Show" when time and distance permits to admire your "Experience"

If your ever in my neighborhood of Blythe, Ca, I would like to invite you guys to a real show of the dark side of the moon, , A true viewing throught my monster telescope, under dark desert skys, This is another way to enjoy a true moving experience while listing to DSOTM..

On the way out to the truck last night after the show, My friend said one comment that kinda states it all, He said "Would I pay another $45 bucks to see them again, Without missing a step, My response was not just yes, But "HELL YES"

Is this actually a real review gilmost? I ask because you posted this before the Kansas City show ever happened. I read it a few days before the show on this very site. How can that be a legit review? Even the timestamp of 02-23-2009 betrays the post.

I have to admit that I was very skeptical when I first learned about PFX, but then all I ever heard was rave reviews so I decided to check them out for myself and I definately do not regret that decision one bit!

I too have been a life long Floyd fan, but just a tad too young to have ever had the chance to experience the real deal. Regardless of that, these guys completely blew me away.
I was lucky enough to have left center stage front row seats and the sound was just awesome!
I don't think you'll regret getting tickets to see this band. They are well worth it in my humble opinion.
I took my 10 and 12 year old sons with me, and they fully enjoyed the entire show and are anxiously awaiting their return as well.
You won't be disappointed. "

My very best friend Frog -
I went back and followed the time stamps myself..."Gypsy" first saw us Sunday 2/8 Lancaster, PA posting her review of the show the following day Monday 2/9/09 at 5:40pm. The Gypsy posting (2/20/09 2:27AM) regarding the upcoming 3/04/09 Kansas City show was of course not a review of a show that had not occured. It was written in advance of the KC show to allay the fears of one "haylo75" who had not bought tickets for the show as of that moment....declaring that he nothing to fear about that upcoming KC show....follow?!

Any other intriguing observations about our posts are warmly invited.
Cheers!

gilmost, like many of us, often copies reviews and such from their individual websites/myspaces and posts them here. I don't think I've ever seen anyone post anything erroneous here regarding feedback and reviews, especially Mr. g.

And now the final solution can be applied.

A sincere promise from me...lightning strike me dead, if I should ever fabricate any fiction in the way of reviews, responses to our bands, etc. I think some have been suprised that I have volunteered some negatives excerpts from some of the offererings that I could have easily left out or edited from this copy and paste ritual.

"The best thing about the truth is that it's the only story you need to remember..." I stand by that always my friends!
Cheers!
