Echoes - Best PF song ever, who else agree?

Echoes is one of Pink Floyd's most well composed songs and they also performed it very well at Pompeii with the additional space footage.

Hey man echo's is a good song. I personally think that dogs was one of there best ever I love it! But as you said it is hard to put an floyd song down or to bring one above the others. I think they only song I dont like from floyd is maybe lost for words from of the division bell, but even that is not terrible. Shine on is a good one too, in its full. I love all of floyd so hard to say but following topic echo's is one good song.

I think 'Echoes' is probably the greatest song ever written. Everytime I hear it I can't believe it's scope... it was an ambitious work of art and the Floyd pulled it off.

Most songs exist within a genre... 'Echoes' has multiple genres (psychadelic/progressive/funk/soundscape/symphonic)... it is a true musical epic and will never be surpassed.

It's lyrics are universal... beautiful in their depiction of nature in harmony and the exhortation for humans to understand eachother.

There is something transcendent about it, something sacred about it and indefinible.

I'm not doubting that it has changed your life, or anyone elses for that matter, but would you care to ellaborate (sp?). You don't have to, I just thought it would make an interesting read.

Dogs and Echoes are always changing as my top fav song between the 2 of them Echoes just wins it for me. CN a close 3rd

I was speachless the first time I heard echoes. God, the buildup at the end before the lyrics come in again is just... amazing.

Echoes is no doubt Floyd's best song, IMO. I still remember how blown away i was the first time i heard it. My musical taste would forever change after that day.
