I'm not a guitarist , but does Dave used any special effects during the guitar solo in 'Time'? It sounds like he is using slide , but I'm not sure...

That's a great guitar solo; beautifully played. I think it is one of his best. Although there is a lot of stiff competition! He creates such a wonderfully expansive sound during his solos. So simple and so utterly mesmerising. :O

Yes he does use a lot of different effects to create this great solo. He used a tape delay unit, bigg muff or fuzzface distortion, and studio compression. He doesn't use a slide in this song though.

Yeah I am pretty sure he does not sue a slide. Just long bends and some help from a wammy bar. :)

I use a Leslie-speaker effect, not quite as prominently on Any Colour You Like (which I think was originally a Jim Dunlop Univibe). It gives the sound some movement, especially in stereo.

I've seen Dave play it many a time and he's never used a slide and I'm pretty sure he don't use it in the studio either. As far as playing it, I could never begin to duplicate the Gilmour sound so I simply just add a load of delay and a Cry Baby since I don't have a whammy bar.

There's no slide or wah in this solo.
I've just posted an MP3 of my version of the solo (we play the PULSE version), so you can hear it. It's a quick one-take job since it's obviously played live when we gig!

http://www.us-and-them.co.uk/theshow.html and click on 'Time'.

It's in mono and at 64kbps.

I could quickly learn the original album version if anyone wants to hear that too...

Yeah, I know there's no wah, I simply use it to add my own touch. Like I said, Dave's sound is hard to duplicate.
