Just get David Gilmour's new custom Black Fender Strat. That would sort many of you guys out here, I am sure. I wouldn't mind it myself but it is expensive. I would rather make my own as it can be done, buy a Fender Classic 50's Strat and then just change the pickgaurd and the pickups and save hundreds! Smile

Ameen.

I use a Music Man Sterling--bites like crazy especially with all the effects I am running. I use 2 different rigs for my Bass setup--1 is an ampeg setup without effects and the other is a early 90's Swr (this rig runs fully effected) both run at the same time.
I do agree about the jap Fenders --they play better.

I don't know but i know someone who would! Go to http://WWW.gilmourish.com this website is set up by the guitarist in the norwegian pink floyd experience. It is dedicated to the gear and settings used by david on every single song and includes a buyers gear guide! also neck pickups give a thick and fat bluesy sound. think shine on and another brickguitarhammers

Yeah, but it has a great documentation of all dave's gear and effects, and its not too difficult to guess the settings. anyway, do you visit Bjorn's site regularly or did you just look there after my post?guitarhammers

I dont need top visit Bjorns site anymore. I know all i need to know.

I used to visit back in the day regularry before the blog was made.

I tend to stick to the David Gilmour Gear Forum now if i need to find out anything.

Thx, better check it out then. Have you seen http://www.tonefromheaven.com? its not that good, but has interviews with Guy Pratt (his bassist from 1994) and Pete Cornish (who makes daves pedal boards and could make one for you if, of course, you have the money) plus the instructions to do A DIY bridge-neck pickup combiner mod that is on the black strathammers

Johns site isnt so good. I agree for the information hes got the site has alot more potential.

Pete is a great guy i bought my P1 and G2 off him. The G2 still remains in my board to this day.

The way your post seems to imply that i dont know all this stuff lol. I know that it isnt ment to come out that way.

I know davids gear and rogers gear inside out... im a major gear head, there the basic sites.

Gilmourish and The Tone From Heaven.

For more in depth... major gear head talk.

great little forum.

If your trying to seriously nail your tone right down i suggest you look up Richard Mahon and send him an email. Hes proberly the most informative person out there in erms of tonailty and dynamics.
