Guitarists and Bassists in this thread you are free to talk about technical aspects of playing and learning floyd songs.
Hopefully other members will be able to help you with any advice and tips on improving your playing.

Hes not a common middle pickup user but he does use it very suttely. Its used on the cleanfunky part of echoes and he uses it on comming back to life.

On his black strat he has a toggle switch that allows him to put the bridge and neck in parrarel to sound like a humbucker.

I use the 4th position which is neck and middle pickup combined i love how warm it sounds and it saves me using alot of compression

They have a reversed body shape, and really hot pickups.
They have a weird headstock too, like a backwards strat.

Quick question...on 12 strings, are the strings that are together an octave apart, or a 5th or what?

RIP Syd Barrett - 1/6/46 - 7/7/06
RIP Rick Wright - 7/28/43 - 9/15/08

Another question, and I don't know where else to ask...What exactly is the difference between a bridge and an interlude? I know a bridge is like when it's different than the rest of the song, but in something like Echoes, is that funky part a bridge or interlude?

interlude... because its between two different important parts of the song, a bridge is a part which comes back...after the verses.

Bridges mostly are the same... also if you look at the lyrics.

every verse has different lyrics right...the bridge lyrics are always the same or nearly identical..

Good example take a look at the lyrics of comfortably numb
Roger sings the verses and Gilmour the bridges

that make sense?
