he should have played stuff from this disc on his Gdansk release. Why rehash the whole On an Island CD live? His solo stuff from the two other discs have some good stuff on them that has not dated i.e. near the end, murder, cry from the street, there's no way out of here etc.

Because that's what Pink Floyd used to do - perform whole albums as a part of their live set list. I agree that he should have done stuff from his earlier two records, but he was touring for On an Island, and that's what he performed. I actually hate it when I go see a band/singer live and they don't do enough material from the album they're touring for. It's not a GH tour.

I'd have to go with So Far Away. That's my favorite.

No Way. The slide guitar on this song is just awsome.

I voted for that as well, although There's No Way Out Of Here is a close second. It's such a great album, if he ever tours again (oh please oh please oh please), I hope he does a couple tracks from it.

I agree. No way out of here is a brilliant track. There are some wonderful moments on that album. I would love to see David ressurect some of his earlier solo works on an upcoming tour.

I noticed no one voted for Mihalis. I wonder why.....it's a great instrumental. He did it on his 1984 solo tour and those performances are what got me into the song.

I like "Cry From the Street" by David Gilmour. I like more this :

"You really love the night, living on your love
It's such a crying shame that things are so rough
It's the sight of them screaming ?...? blinds you ?...?
I guess the chances are you wish you'd stayed asleep
But don't ?...? pray, it's just a cry from the street "

Amazing song!

I'm sorry guys but I just have to say Comfortably Numb's solo is the best guitar work ever done by Gilmore! Although I havn't heard much from his solo career sounds like he kept it up! Anyway I think if I had to vote I'd put Gilmore as #1 guitarist of all time TIED with Jimmy Page. Then would be all the other amazing guitarist who I don't have the time to list xD Whos your top 5?

David is a much better guitarist than Jimmy Page.
