I tend to agree with you. I think that Roger, Dave and Rick's talents would have come out anyway, and added to Syd's talents, you would have an AMAZING band. I'm not saying that Pink Floyd hasn't been amazing, anyway, but it would have been like the Beatles with two George Harrisons or two Paul McCartneys or two John Lennons.

i am in agreement too. syd had a function within the confines of a rock group in the 60's. and with a condition like his, he was bound to come of worse. but one of the more interesting points in this discussion is that david probably would not have been drafted in. if syd had have stayed, i don't think bowie would have been as big. nor t-rex. a whole different musical culture would have stemmed around pink floyd. he startet space rock, a founder of prog rock, a bluesman , a song writer, a music writer and a fantastic singer. he was a very talented artist too. so he had a plethora of different talents to give to the world.
it's one of rock greatest follies. to have all that and a condition that you didnt cause yourself to take it away from you..
oh where are you know

Judging from what I have read about Syd, lets just say he never OD'd and kept on playing at least to some extent. I think as time passed (as you can tell from his solo albums) he would have changed the style of music he wrote in, while Waters would have been up and coming as a lyricist and as a songwriter whenever the Syd brainstormpool went dry. I think wed have a more psychadelic, less selling but still very popular pink floyd.
