No, I think such fans are minority - though still considerable group considering how huge fanbase Floyd has

That's anyway very ridiculous stand. Roger was one man and not even near the importance Syd was in his reign. In fact one might have point if said that after Syd there was no Pink Floyd with him writing 90 % of their material (and rest copied his style) and naming the band. More like new band formed by members of Pink Floyd stole its name

Roger wasn't even near that. Sure, he wrote all the lyrics during DSotM-TFC era. Uhh, so? Unless you start to argue they weren't Floyd in ASOS-OBC period that point is null. Band isn't defined by who wrote the lyrics. Tom Sawyer's lyrics were written by non-member of Rush - is the song less Rush then? No.

Most of the people got into Floyd and loved it because of the music anyway (though not me, heh) and this is something I've learned over the years. And music was always (minus TFC and AMLOR) band project. Dave put it nicely that most of the music wasn't before Animals written by him. On the contrary, Dave & Rick were the music writing team, Roger then went off and wrote lyrics over the music. And often Roger wrote the words to melodies of either Dave or Rick meaning they had indirect impact on them too (Comfortably Numb's words were written into Dave's haunting melody and WYWH's lyrics were reworked to Dave's riff).

The Division Bell is most Floyd sounding album since Animals. It has ALL trademarks of the band's music and playing. There's no way one can write is as not Floyd AND include TFC as Floyd which doesn't sound Floyd at all.

If TFC 3 man Floyd is considered as Floyd (which doesn't even sound like PF) then why TDB 3 man Floyd can't be (which sounds like PF)?
