Folks, I think a real signature floyd riff is the simple slidey part at the beginning of C Numb. Also in the verses there is a slidey thing.

I have never seen video where you can see anybody playing it. For Momentary Lapse and Pulse it sounds like a heavily distorted guitar, but I don't see anyone play it.

For Dave's recent tour you also can't see anyone play it, but add in the mix John playing lap steel, and one wonders if it is lap steel.

Further, watching Rick play the verse it appears that he is playing the keyboard along to the little slide notes.

A little confusing.
