Not sure what you mean here -- do you mean that he should have just released it as a solo album after leaving Pink Floyd? No opinion about that to be honest, though as I've said before, it's pretty much my all time favorite album.

It basically IS a solo album. The only thing that makes it not a solo album is the fact he tacked their name on there somewhere. I can understand the same feelings people have about A Momentary Lapse of Reason and to a point, I agree. However, AMLoR is more "Pink Floyd" than The Final Cut is, at least to me. I've heard both albums and when I listen to AMLoR, I hear more glimpses of what Pink Floyd was/is and what they could do, as opposed to when I listen to The Final Cut. That album sounds more like Roger's solo works than anything he did while a member of the band.

So yeah, Roger just should have left the band after The Wall shows were over and done The Final Cut but released it under his own name. Then it could be considered in the proper context. Because as a Roger solo effort, I'm sure it's brilliant. As a Pink Floyd album, it's pap.

If Syd had have stayed in Floyd then I wouldn't have got to listen to The Madcap Laughs and god knows I love that album. There would be alot of things that would have changed and alot of albums that wouldn't have been the same, things worked out for the best and I that's what we all can agree on, right guys?.

Syd didn't 'go mad'. Roger did.

Roger had an ego issue yes, but Syd "went mad" using the standard definition of the phrase. Roger just had control issues that boiled out of control and that sucks for all of us, but there's no reason to believe he suffered from any mental difficulties.

Or maybe, Bullet meant Roger Barrett was the one who turned mad?
