Honestly, The Post Breakup albums arent so bad its ASFOS that gets me as being garbage.

I agree that TFC is a VERY passionate album and also very personal. It's the musical content I find boring, so much so that I still can't tell the songs apart. I've really tried to like it, but alas, it's not my cup of tea.
But then again, neither is ASFOS, other than Set the Controls, Let there be more light and Remember a Day.

i agree...it had potential...but honestly...roger's later stuff was just boring..i miss when he would have a spaz like on ummagumma and the wall.

For me, it's a tie between Atom Heart Mother and A Momentary Lapse of Reason, and that's because AHM sounds so silly at times and AMLOR sounds so dated. All the good parts of AHM are in the middle, whilst it's bookended by horrible tracks. The suite was an experiment, but a bloated pretentious experiment. The only redeeming part of the suite is some cool sounding Gilmour solos, and Mother Fore. Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is really gimmicky. In all aspects, AMLOR was a Gilmour+Others production, and you can REALLY tell it's an 80s album by its production and sound, which is something you don't find in many other Pink Floyd albums.

Good Tracks: Fat Old Sun, On the Turning Away, If, One Slip

Bad Tracks: Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, The Dogs of War, A New Machine, Yet Another Movie

But neither of those albums have my least favorite Pink Floyd song.

Rest in Peace, Billy Mays

I loathed AMLOR when I first listened to it. The only songs I liked were The Dogs of War and Terminal Frost. When Learning to Fly started, I thought, "Who the hell is this anyway? Genesis?" I then listened to it again almost a year later and listened to it over and over. It's now in my top 5 of their albums. Sometimes the lyrics are cheesy and I could do without One Slip, but it's a fun album to listen to and it's over before you know it. All of the guitar solos are aces and I think it contains Gilmour's best singing. And I'll be damned if Sorrow isn't Gilmour's magnum opus.

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so that when they turn their backs on you, you'll get the chance to put the knife in.

Sorrow is a damn good track. I mean, really good. Pink Floyd had a habit of putting really good songs at the end of their albums and this one is no exception.

i think my fav songs from there are actually dogs of war (awesome all around!) learning to fly (amazing lyrics) and on the turning away (gotta love the end solo)

The album I would rate 8/10. The album live I would rate 10/10. That's another thing the Floyd were excellent at -- taking a good album and making it even better on the road. There are some songs of theirs I never liked on the album, but think were absolutely tremendous when done in the context of their live show.

They just flat knew how to put on a damn good live performance, regardless of what era you choose to focus on. I've got boots from the late 60s, I've got the Live 8 show. It's all good, from start to finish.

i totally agree! all their live albums i've heard are amazing! (david's live in gdansk is my fav live album ever though!) money from a delicate sound of thunder though is soooo amazing! best version of that song i've ever heard! i only have the official albums, but i've heard older versions on youtube! i'd looove to get a copy of their '70 tour! i heard that on wolfgang's vault!

@Angelfang: You should check out 4:41 AM (Sexual Revolution) off the The Pro's and Cons of Hitchhiking Roger's great on that track.

@Silverpot Im in total agreement on Remember a Day. And I could understand how you could get bored of the instrumentals in TFC. I'ts so different from anything before it.

Also, I've found with time that AMLOR is a lot better Live.

RE: What is your least favorite album?
My problem with TFC is actually that there is too few instrumental passages and the almost complete lack of melodies.
