RE: The Notebook v. 3.0
There's actually a couple of issues here really. Number one it doesn't help that, depending upon how you look at it, 2 out of 5 members of the band are dead. It also doesn't help that there has not been an album released in over 15 yrs and some would argue longer. It also doesn't help that over the years pretty much every PF topic has been done to death, and while rehashing a old discussion may bring it back to life for a bit there is also the issue of members willing to continue to discuss the topic, many of us that have been here a long time simply don't really have the need nor desire to reiterate what we've probably already talked about time and time again. Look at me for instance, I discovered PF over 30 yrs ago, I kinda ran out of things to say quite some time ago, and while I could join in arguments what's the use, most things are either accepted "fact" by now and to beat the dead horse would strike me as silly or they are "facts" that none of us will, in all likelihood, ever know the truth about, either way it's simply old news to me. And, while it is nice to see newer people "discover" the band I, personally, get a tad tired of seeing the same old arguments and disagreements and I think we all know how I feel about "I'm right, you're wrong" type of battles, now don't get me wrong, I love discussion, but it does seem that many turn into the afore mentioned type, and that simply gets old. Now, and I'm gonna try and be careful how I word this...perhaps...just perhaps more "lurkers" might post if they weren't "afraid" of being jumped on about their questions/opinions, you guys do come across sometimes as "know it alls", and I know it's the internet so voice inflection is missing but still...I'm just expressing my thoughts on how some (many) of the arguments appear...having said that, bottom line we need new members who are active, and to be honest I'm not 100% sure that regardless of what we attempt that can happen to a board based on a band who while we think is the best, have never been "that band" that appealed to the masses. Maybe it's simply been too long since the band was active and we're becoming a dying breed.

I understand where you are coming from KS, to me too it seems a long time ago that I first heard something 'different' and to which would have a profound effect on me, it was of course the early 70s with 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'. All said I think there is still a community here, and one that now does not have to be solely around Pink Floyd, we are together in another way now, this site remains to me somewhere I like to catch up with people not just Pink Floyd, it's obvious to me that many feel the same especially when you have banned members coming back, and rightly so, it's here they should frequent. Let's hope though that old and new members post more because this site has more to offer. This is still somewhere for new fans of Pink Floyd to feel as one and express once again that wonderful feeling I had all that time ago.

And who knows , maybe some of us "lurkers" may pop out of the woodwork more when the expanded packages start coming out . I am sure that there will be lots of questions regarding opinions of the value of the different sets .

I just saw the expanded collection The Dark Side Of The Moon last week sometime. Gorgeous collection! I will to think very hard whether to buy that package.

We got a team together and traveled to a roller hockey tournament this passed weekend. Some really good competition. We played well; just not as well as a few other teams. One if our games we were heavily penalized. At one point we were shorthanded for six minutes; two of those minutes were two against four. None of our opponents scored powerplay goals. But we lost a few too many games and took fourth.
I played a couple hours last night and the lack of cool air and relative humidity got the better of me by the end of the session. I am sure I sweat away at least five pounds of water weight.
Very tired and lazy at the moment. On the plus side, I have borrowed a very nice DA L 55-300 lens from my cousin and hope to put it through some paces later today and tomorrow.

I'm impressed with the weather today -- It's only 79 degrees and not as humid. Apparently it decided to take pity on us.

We had the same in Stockholm today. The warmest since I came back from Thailand about a month ago. Perfect conditions for golfing, hardly any wind. Looks even better for tomorrow!

Shocking. Positively shocking.

Just got back from a weekend in Bournemouth, Dorset, lovely time albeit the traffic was bad on the way home, what should have taken 2 hours took 5, and I was on a bike, soooo many cars. It was nice to eat out, have not been out to a restaurant since last September so really enjoyed it and the weather was nice too, it was all a treat for Mrs onlyfloyd's birthday.
