I think it was more them playing together than David specifically teaching Syd but I might be wrong.

They were friends long before PF existed, and they used to play guitar together. It's pretty common in situations like that for both musicians to influence each other. It's one of the reasons why David was such a good replacement for Syd, because he knew where Syd was coming from, so to speak, in terms of guitar playing.

Where are some examples (in floyd songs) where we can hear Syd playing Gilmore-esque?

Syd and David spent recesses at the University playing guitars together.When Syd was playing guitar for Pink Floyd David Gilmour was in France with Joker's Wild and practically starved.

That was what I was thinking. They may have played together but I can't think of many songs where David sounds like Syd or Vice Versa.
