how can you piss all over pulse like that. you are talking SHIT! exactly how is dark side butchered? because it doesn't sound like the studio album? if so, that doesn't make sense as why would you go and watch a band live in the first place....to hear an exact copy of the album? there would be no point. i think you have been smoking too much shit because when you first heard pulse you fucking loved it. it appears, once again that you really don't have an opinion of your own because:
a)you quote from mojo, q et al,
b)bullshit from geeks on the internet.
have a nice day. :D
p.s. every time you post a message aimed at me, refrain from the continuous "wheres my money" bullshit. you will have the money when i've got it. :p

YEAH! everyone should like the albums they actually like, rather than being slaves to the music press and what's 'cool'
it's not as though Pulse's version of Dark Side of the Moon is a million miles away from the original anyway! It's like that Billy Connelly joke where the guy goes , "Ack! This food is disgusting! - there's no bay leaf in it!"

I do not quote from magazines or the internet as it happens. I always liked the Pulse video just because it looks so amazing and it's PF, but I never liked the album as such. Maybe I was a little overly harsh about Dark Side... on Pulse - but I maintain that it was disappointing to hear it that way after becoming so accustomed to the brilliant original which I have owned for many years and through which I got my first taste of Floyd.
Yes, it is often good to hear live bands play alternative versions of their songs, but in my experience PF songs tend to be perfect first time around on the albums and are best left unmeddled with. Prime example - Money on Pulse. Absolutely perfect on the studio original, but live without the same solidity of the bass line that was always the foundation of the song it falls apart at the seams. Great song though.

More and Relics are a higher priority than Delicate Sound... right now. More will complete my collection of the standard studio albums in the PF catalogue. Relics I would love since Jintzey sent me mp3s of some of the tracks from it and I'm so impressed it would be nice to have the CD. But I can't afford any CDs (or anything else) for quite some time.

Really? That's a little surprising. I thought you were not keen on pre-Meddle PF (a position that Freddie has since adopted too). It's full of great stuff. Nice that we agree on something. If I ever have any money again I shall snap it up without delay.

Best of Neil Young was advertised on VH1 today. I have his 3 "best" albums but I wouldn't mind 2 or 3 more. And maybe some of the stuff he did with bands in addition to his solo work.
