As I listen to ECHOES, especially on the pompeii dvd, as the song finishes, i feel almost a deep sense of sadness.
whether or not its because of the soft ending of the song, or whether its just the ending of one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, that, It's all over, no more echoes.....
the pompeii version does it to me the most
the extended outro, the awesome keys...
i think the magic part is the lead-up to the climax with the high pitched guitars 3/4 of the way through
then the climax is just stunning,
then the long sad outro..... that the song is all over.....
i dont know how to describe it
does anyone else feel something similar to echoes, or any other pink floyd song?
comfortably numb (pulse version) often does it to me, to a lesser extent, after dave's blissful solo.....
ahh

My personal favorite part of the song is right after the whale call, when it gets just like the very beginning, and then the guitars come in, it's so awesome!

after i listen to echoes, i just feel at peace with the world, and i can't listen to anything else after it for a while. it's just so beautiful.
I think he re-gifted and then he de-gifted and now he's using an upstairs invite as a springboard to a Super Bowl sex romp!

ECHOES is brilliant!
. Outstanding lyrics by Dave, Nick, Rick & Roger.
. Great composition by the band.
. Classic start.
. Beautiful vocals by Dave & Rick.
. Great musical parts in between:
Variations starting from catchy guitar to haunting sounds
and back to some great guitars.
Should have been an album (Echoes) based on 'Echoes' concept with 5 parts including similar material.
Echoes Rock!
As salt resolved in the ocean
I was swallowed in God's sea,
Past faith, past unbelieving,
Past doubt, past certainty.
Suddenly in my bosom
A star shone clear and bright;
All the suns of heaven
Vanished in that star's light.

When I listen to Echoes I can smoke one gram of weed and by the time the wakey "coyote in the great barren land of crayon existance" yeah... when you discover that part of the song you know you are stoned. It's a freaking groovy awesome song but I've listened to it too much and I can almost hear it in my head now without even playing it. I've had enough for one day....

I feel that the Guitar chorus near the end of echoes is the definition of music. It is quite possibly the best sound that has ever entered my ears...
